Quixus
I'm planning to build and play a 5 marine VV squad with Thunderhammer and Storm Shield on the Sarge, and Infernus Pistol, Power Fist and Power Weapon. Where would it be best to put the Infernus Pistol? On one of the Models with Power Fist/Sword or on another otherwise standard battle brother? Is it better to have one or two unaugmented marines? Personally I'd put them all on different models, that way each model is unique. As they only have one W each that's less important for wound allocation but it's still nice not to lose all your toys in one shot. PS - Regardless of the above, don't put it on the PF model. You won't get the extra attack anyway.
Judaz
I don't get this with wound allocation. I used to run Nobz, and then it makes sense, but with single wound models? I choose wich models to take the wounds right? And I choose the casualties. Why should I make the models unique when they only have 1 wound? Why should I make the models unique when they only have 1 wound? because wounds carry over onto like models. say you have a squad with 2 models with powerfists, and each model takes 2 wounds before saves. If one guy fails both, and the other passes both, they still both die. However if one was a powerfist and the other a thunder hammer, the guy who failed both dies the guy who passed both lives. Now, wound allocation is much more useful in a unit like nobs or TWC where they have 2 wounds each.
Judaz
Aaah, thanks James. That's good to know. Have never used it like that with my BA. It doesn't really come into play with a boyz squad of 30 with 6+ armour :) Just starting to understand how to play with this power armour thing. Quixus
Personally I'd put them all on different models, that way each model is unique. As they only have one W each that's less important for wound allocation but it's still nice not to lose all your toys in one shot.On the other hand you could however lose 2 marines without losing a special weapon. The question is how often you can allocate the unsaveable wounds to the two normal ones. PS - Regardless of the above, don't put it on the PF model. You won't get the extra attack anyway.Just as the other marines except for the sarge get an extra attack with either sort of pistol. As a follow up, the squad is build form the Command Squad box and I want the option to field it as Honour Guard, through magnetized arms. I'm thinking about the following setup: Blood Champion - no options Sanguinary Aspirant - no options #3 - Power Fist, Melta Gun #4 - Power Sword #5 - Naked PF loses the extra attack anyway and like this I have one model that doesn't contribute much to the squad's effectiveness. Or should I put the Melta gun on the otherwise naked marine?
