krewl
Hello there. Last weekend I had a disastrous outing at the Dutch GT (Playing a list I just finshed at 2 in the evening the night before) so I didn't know how to play my list well. Now I feel it would be a waste to not use my models (coverted bikes) in some way, so I am planning to make them into thunderwolves counts as models. The bikes themselves are already higher and longer then normal bikers as I elongated the biker forks (low rider chopper style) I just need to know th rest so I can base them on something higher up of make them wider with some additional armour plating to be at least reasonable close to the model they are supposed to represent. The base is easy, just put them on a dreadnought base. but how high and wide is the Canis model? As I do not want to model for my own advantage. So can any one with the Canis model give me the height and with of the model? Or would I be safe to use a dreadnougt and use that as a base for heigt of the model? And how wide should it be? Also is the general opionion that Canis is how big the wolves should be? As the codex states that Fangir (Canis TWM) is a monstrous Thunderwolf, so perhaps his model is somewhat bigger then normal TWC would be? Thanks in advance. CainTheHunter
Also is the general opionion that Canis is how big the wolves should be? As the codex states that Fangir (Canis TWM) is a monstrous Thunderwolf, so perhaps his model is somewhat bigger then normal TWC would be? Since Canis is the only TW model which we have now, the general consensus is that TWL and TWC should be mounted on 60mm bases. The reason behind this partially is connected with wide supply of non-GW models, which are quite big and would look awkward on a 40mm base. I cannot elabore on the measurements of Canis model, since I don't like this model and as a result don't have it :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/213913-can-anyone-provide-me-with-the-measurements-of-canis/#findComment-2545575 Share on other sites
krewl
I'm clear on the 60mm base (That's a dread base right?). It's just the height that I'd like to haver the same as canis. (Say, modeling the ravenwing banners to that hight) for fair use in a game. having a crouching thunderwolf who can hide behind a rhino and be untargetable.. not really fair and fun for your opponents. Looking at the model in the codex my gues would be a dreadnought in height, but some compairing pictures (To a rhino or a dread) would be better. CainTheHunter
You got Your copy of codex? Look at the picture at the back of it - there is PA model next to him, as well as Njal. It appears that Canis is twice as high as ordinary PA model. Imperialis_Dominatus
measurements of Canis Probably something like 72-56-62.
