Baal preds

There is a thread for this just below, asking much the same.

Personally I'd recommend just sticking to pure DoA army, though it really depends on what you have. In 1500 your going to be quite model light as it is, unless your only taking say a libby and RAS'ers. The second you start adding more specialised troops (melta gun honor guard or van guard kitted up to the teeth with power weapons) your not going to have many points to play about with and stay effective in the missions.

Baals w/ AC's scouting/reserving seems quite a good idea in theory, but if you bringing in something like x20 RAS and x5 VV to support that your going to have a tough time.

Getting up to 2000 I'd start thinking about adding mech to my list if I was DoA, unless you dont run with Dante, in which case I'd add Dante and more troops.

I am shy about 75pts

I love Baals and regularly use both variants - even one of each in the same list if points allow! Personally I find them a nice accompanyment to a predominantly JP list and can give your opponent a few headaches over priorities.

Depends on what you are up against, but because you are pretty well sorted sorted with melta for anti-armour, you could round out your capabilty by running 2 Baals (TL AC + HB sponsons, FS cannon + HF sponsons) and a Landspeeder Typhoon. This comes in at 1465 so you could easily add extra armour to the Baals and still come within your points limit.

Personally I don't like my lists too specialised as I like to have some variation to deal with any wildcard my opponent throws at me.

Just my thoughts

I agree, I do not like speeders out of a personal preference honestly, idk about the baals the more I think about it another sang guard unit and HG with meltas would be better lolz

I very much doubt a Vindi would be better than anything at all. He's running a largely assault army that will close on his opponent's army by turn 2; meaning that he'll be at risk of blowing his own guys off the board. Also, its one gun makes it very easy to shut down, especially when there's not many other targets out there.

Hybrid Angels are very hard to run effectively, I suggest you pick up some Vanguard or Honor Guard instead. Even at 1,500 points, 3 armor 13 tanks will drop or be shut down. in 1 turn.

LOVE this list. id get PWs on the priests- maybe even drop a priest - and use the points for something else, but otherwise GREAT!

Personally I'd add HB x2 to the Baals - thats 60 points of the 75 there. With the remaining 15 I'd look at maybe thunder hammer into one of the squads of RAS - maybe even 2, or a PW on the SP (though they die so quick sometimes I don't bother wasting points on em).

I'd definatly get the HB's up - x2 baals w/ HB into a single infantry squad can make them go bye bye very quick, with your setup x12 rending shots and x12 str5 shots, they can bring down monstrous creatures with sheer weight of volume.

People say vindys - over my past 4 games I've faced a total of 6 of them combined, and the only thing they have done is imob my land raider. I find vs me they scatter all the time, and its 1 shot, if you fail to do anything your ballsed, where as I've had so much effect with Baals - I mean they can even pen LR's with a bit of luck.
