Serunox
Good day brothers I was wondering about assaults against walkers.Im still a whelp and still learning the rules etc :woot: Lets say lone wolve with chain fist scores two hits gainst a dreadnought. Now the book says any hits scored against them must be rolled for penetration. So,do you roll for both hits and take both effects or just one?Lets say first roll you get a weapon destroyed, can you roll the second hit then and use that result aswell, lets say destroyed? So in the end the dread is destroyed then? Question two, rules say each roll on damage table is a wound for combat purposes. Now the dread doesnt take morale tests, does the dread still roll 2D6 for fall back distance? Hope you can make out what im asking,Thanks in advance Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214092-assaults/ Share on other sites

The rule you are quoting is somewhat poorly written as it allows for this type of confusion. What it is saying is a walker does not take wounds like normal infantry model rather you role on the charts for vehicles, so you still can get a glace or a penetrating hit depending on the roll of the dice added with the strength of the weapon against the front armor value of the walker. Just as if you are shooting at it. Question two, rules say each roll on damage table is a wound for combat purposes. Now the dread doesnt take morale tests, does the dread still roll 2D6 for fall back distance? No the dread is fearless, however if a friendly unit was in close combat with the dread against an enemy unit then the rule would take affect. Grey Mage
Youll need to roll penetration twice, and then roll damage results for each penetrating or glancing hit. They take the damage result for each attack, and they stack- IE if you get a weapon destroyed result and an immobilized result, you take one of his weapons and immobilize him. Dreads are NOT fearless, but they, as vehicles, do not take leadership or Morale checks- so he wont be falling back, ever. Yeah was in a rush heading out the door and trying to explain the rule in quick way. I figured, I just wanted to make sure he didnt think there was some kind of 'no retreat' that dreads suffered. Blarmb
It's worth noting however that damage results do count as "Wounds" for the purposes of assault resolution. So a damage dread can contribute to the morale check and possible falling back/No Retreat! of a friendly non-walker unit engaged alongside it.. iirc that is. Grey Mage
That would be correct. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214092-assaults/#findComment-2548973 Share on other sites

I noted that, but what would that mean in the combat then?lone wolve deals immobilized to dread, so that means he fights with one less cc attack and the lone wolve doesnt get a wound, since the dread takes no morale check, what happens to the combat then?do they stay locked in combat? Correct. It continues to resolve as normal next assault phase. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214092-assaults/#findComment-2549173 Share on other sites
