Simo429
When you use murderous hurricane on a enemy for example lets say seekers of slanesb are they then in difficult and dangerous terrain when it comes to assualts, I always have played them like that but yesterday an opponent said no! Marshal Wilhelm
When you use murderous hurricane on a enemy for example lets say seekers of slanesb are they then in difficult and dangerous terrain when it comes to assualts, I always have played them like that but yesterday an opponent said no! Yes they are! "Treats all terrain, even clear terrain, as both difficult and dangerous." BBB pg 36 "If.... any model in an assaulting unit will have to go through .... terrain as part of its assault move.... the second disadvantage is .... if an assaulting unit had to take a Difficult or Dangerous terrain test during their assault move, all of its models have their Initiative reduced to 1." Grey Mage
I once had an opponent tell me I couldnt shoot his unit in the open with my long fangs. When I asked him why he said 'because I forgot they were there' *my long fangs that is*. Ask them for rules, in this case you were right. Though the demonettes count as having grenades, so theyll still strike at I, a have an invulnerable save against any wounds caused by the dangerous terrain test. silverneil
When I asked him why he said 'because I forgot they were there' *my long fangs that is*. I love these sort of quotes. <_< You can't help but chuckle. How did you convince him otherwise GM? Blarmb
You were right, murderous hurricane is pretty awesome. Units take diffcult and dangerous every time the move. Meaning standard moves and assault moves are shorter, and all moves (including runs) can cause causalities due to a 1 on a d6 roll. A lesser known interaction is this. If a unit has the ability the to ignore initiative modifiers from difficult terrain but not dangerous, MH still causes this them to strike at I1, since dangerous terrain forces I1 as well (as per the Rules on Assaulting Through Cover). The only example I can think of is Eldar Harlequins, which ignore difficult terrain by virtue of the flip-belt but have no such exemption from dangerous terrain. As such the "Assault Through Cover" rule applies due to them assaulting through dangerous terrain, and they strike at I1 (since they only have the belt, and not plasma grenades) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214113-muderous-hurricane/#findComment-2548898 Share on other sites
Marshal Wilhelm
Murderous Jurricane is good for slowing a rush against you, giving you more time for dakka dakka. It also works by slowing prey down ~ they can't get away and then *whoosh!* just like a Nat Geo doco, the Wolf runs down the feeble shooty squad Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214113-muderous-hurricane/#findComment-2548923 Share on other sites
Gerwulf
I love murderous hurricane... I never use a rune priest without it. It's just so valuable for how I play my wolves. Slowing down my opponents to give me an edge Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214113-muderous-hurricane/#findComment-2549074 Share on other sites
WG Vrox
Here is a good question. If I had a Wolf Tooth Tailsman and was up against an enemy rune priest casting Murderous Hurricane, would I get 2 chances to dispel the power, one for my movement phase and one for the assault phase? Wulf Vengis
No the Tolf Tail Talisman only works the turn your enemy uses the attack on you. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214113-muderous-hurricane/#findComment-2549120 Share on other sites
WG Vrox
No the Tolf Tail Talisman only works the turn your enemy uses the attack on you. really, might want to re-read what it does under the wargear section. It states that whenever the unit or model is affected by a psychic power you may attempt to nullify it on a 5+. stinkenheim
and the model/unit is only affected when the power is cast. After that the affects are from the blizzard not from the psycher. don't forget you would have already had an attempt from the runic weapon and then the WTT during their shooting phase. To then try and cancel it out during your movement and possibly assault phase is more than pushing it imo. +edit+ @ Blarmb actaully dangerous terrain is still difficult terrain, so models like harlequins would still ignore the I modifiers they just run the risk of taking casualties. nurglez
one thing about MH, i notice a lot of people think that if you cast it on enemy's who are about to assault you, they roll twice, yet I thought with dangerous terrain you only rolled once per turn, no matter how many times you moved in dangerous terrain, am I wrong? Hear da Lamentation
Pretty sure that is wrong. It says EVERY time you move through dangerous ground you make a test. So that's once for move, once for run (if possible) and once for assault. Grey Mage
Run doesnt care about difficult terrain, but youll take dangerous as normal. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214113-muderous-hurricane/#findComment-2549414 Share on other sites
