Mortarion
I just finished my Death company on foot and a Drop pod to take them into battle. When I painted my DC with jump packs years ago I decided to paint them grey, like in the IA article. With the release of the new codex it has been clarified that the Flesh tearers have a black Death company just like the Blood angels. But I wanted my DC on foot to look like the old models with jump packs. Two different types of DC in the same army would just look strange. And besides, I like the grey version. It makes them stand out from the rest of the army. So I painted the new ones grey as well. I modelled the same face masks as the old ones. I really like the way it looks. The inspiration was taken from the book "Horus heresy: Collected visions". The masks are made with green stuff over normal helmets. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/DC01-1.jpg Death company with pod. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/DC02-1.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/DC03-1.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/DC04.jpg The death company. http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/DC05.jpg Detail of the "Flesh tearer" (counts as power fist). http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/DCpod01.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h233/Bulonicus/FT/DCpod02.jpg The pod. I wanted it to look like it hade really entered the atmosphere with a lot of paint burnt or scratched away. And I painted it in the same colours as the Death company, as usual with DC transports. So, what do you think?
HunterEste
It looks fantastic. Love the weathered look on the drop-pod, definitely looks as though it has seen a lot of combat :P The basing looks lovely as well (I'm miserable when it comes to thinking up ideas on good basing). The blood on that buzzsaw-blade is nicely done. Gory enough for this time of the year  I especially like the helmets you've used on the squad. Where were those procured from? Lady_Mournival
Great work, the squad just really feels like the incarnation of bad :cuss I especially like the helmets you've used on the squad. Where were those procured from? I answer with a quote with bolding for emphasis. I modelled the same face masks as the old ones. I really like the way it looks. Dark Apostle Thirst
That buzzsaw is absolutely sickening. Other than that I have no comment that is necessary.
