MRC(+)
Anyone ever tried going Ork style with Blood Claws? 5 x 15man packs (or 75 total Blood Claws) costs about 1125 points. Give each pack 2 MGs, a PF, and a Wolf Guard (with PF and Combi-Melta) and you are up to about 1490. Add a Rune Priests (anti-Psyker, Force Weapon, Ld 10, 5+ Cover Save, Living Lightning) and 3 x 5 ML Long Fangs Packs and you have about a 2000 point force with: -99 PA models -10 PFs -15 Melta/Combi-Meltas -15 MLs Probably not the most competitive, but still a unique idea... flood the table with Power Armor models. BigJon
Drop a few BC's from each pack and put in a Wolf Priest or two and you'll add some real punch with Oath of War. nurglez
the only "issue" i have with this, is you can do the same with grey hunter squads at 10man, and put them in rhinos. so you could have 53-60 grey hunters, some wg in each and a rune priest or 2, and same amount of longfangs. I do love the idea of a horde of space marines, its a lovely image  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214235-mass-blood-claws/#findComment-2550003 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
But 15 man blood claw packs have 60 attacks on the charge, and oath of war makes this insane. The headstrong thing is neutralized by the WG so they are a very effective force, especially if you have enough points to dump them in a land raider. Wysten
It works alright, though theres a few issues: It's not easpically mobile, all that armour is basically a meatsheild and won't be doing anything productive until it reaches the foe, It's expensive due to all the armour required. Plus theres a good chance that all the blood claws may not even get into combat once there due to the fact they have to be in 2 inches once there. It would be helirous to see, 2 main killing squads flanked with a lot of blood claws for covers. Heheh. I'm pretty sure the guy posting is aware he could just bring a standard Space Wolf army instead :). As regards the army, a couple of screens of wolves would fit in really well with this army. If you drop one pack (15 blood claws, 2 mg, pf, wg w/ pf+cm) you will save 310 points for which you can get 3 packs of 12 fenrisian wolves with a cyberwolf, another 72 points will let you max those out at 15 wolves each giving you a pretty insane amount of bodies on the board.
