Redfinger
So spamming ass/backs seems to be popular, but what about flamer spam, I forsee this as being potentially quite deadly. But I am curious, as I have not found it in the rule book, how does a twin-linked template work? Do you lay down 2 templates, or re-roll wounds? Lastly, anyone know of any sources for twinlinked heavy flamers, there are the ones from the Baal, it would need a bit of modding though, any thoughts? Sir Blayse
I haven't used them, but the rule is to reroll the wounds. Pg. 31 BAB. I would probaby say use the ones in the baal sprue to put together a conversion. If I ever get a chance I might try it out, but so far I have just been using the HB's. If not for the need for lots of anti-armor I would like it.
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
I don't use them, but I've converted some. If you take two heavy flamers from two land speeder kits, they work nicely. Plus, you have room to spare for targeting equipment.
Volcatus
Pg. 31 under the heading Twin-linked template weapons: place one template, re-roll to wound. Against a vehicle, reroll pen instead. I made mine from a tau cannon and two heavy flamer ends from my old school Leman Russ'. Several others here have used the HF from the Battle Sisters Immolator, Baneblade sponsons, and such. Just go to your favorite Bitz ordering site and search for Heavy Flamer to get some ideas.
Dingareth
For my Iron Warriors I used a cut down Flamestorm Cannon from the Baal Predator Kit. It's mounted on the ring from the Aegis Defense Line Autocannons that went to my Dreadnoughts. Here you go: http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2160/rszbolsarmyjpg.jpg For my Blood Angels ones, I just used the Baal sponsons.
Brother Nathan
for mine i took the sponson heavy flamers off the baal and combined it with the razorbacks lascannons. http://i155.photobucket.com/albums/s317/generalhazard_album/models/P5310611.jpg
Necronsftw
Aaaah youve come to the right place! I have been using Ascannonsbut the Hvyflamers have been very effictive and I'm in love with them, even marines should be scared! What I did was run a list like this: note was off top of my head! Sanguinor Libby with JP x3 Razorbacks with Hvyflamersw/meltagu x3 Priests x1 w/ JP x10 Assault Squad pf w/x2 MG and a Chaplin w/ JP I would just move up with my the assault squad with sanguinor, chappy priest going up the middle and on a flank the 3 backs zooming upand flaming! bulley
I've seen a few lists that spam flamer spam w/ AC/LC heavy pred's (not baals) and seem to swear by them. They are cheap, (20 points w/ the RAS) opposed to the 55 point r'back. The list is obviously going to be a get up in your face and flame people out of position and more than likely assault them. Personally I prefer the mass rate of fire from my r'backs w/ AC's and HB's (HB's have been an absolute MVP for me in the past 2 games). But the flamers are perfectly viable. I am in the process of making x5 of each turret option so I can run spam x5 of each or my typical mix up (usually x1 AC x2 las plas and x1 HB). The Flamer list will be alot more aggresive, but I do prefer to sit back and fire away while staying extremely mobile.
Mr Peon
I have used them in most of my lists, I made mine out of a coin (Australian 20c) mounted with a paid of heavy flamers from a sentinal. I used a spare leg guard from my soul grinder ontop of it to give it a more armoured feel. You can also see my Storm Raven in this shot http://i717.photobucket.com/albums/ww171/svrainbowau/19092010113.jpg
