Marshal Wilhelm
They even get to be mutants and no-one challenges them about it. :activates powerfist with a menacing crackle: Who dares call us mutants?!?! Retract your insult or I'll have your skull on a pike, ally or no! ;) Actually, your list is a pretty good one, Wilhelm, except you forgot one thing. Wolves will pick a fight within anyone, not matter how tough (or not, when speaking of templars...) they are. I have an Adamantine mantle. No insta-death on this fellow ;) Templars not tough?! I look forwards to besting Garm in the AoB, then we'll talk about tough or no, eh? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214272-what-makes-us-play-wolves/page/3/#findComment-2553158 Share on other sites

Marshal Wilhelm
you have a mantle that makes you tough. we have an attitude (Saga) both the Imperial Fists and Luna WOlves acknowledge who is the toughest, or would you like me to continue my history lesson my intolerant brother, smiter of witches, bearer of titantic ego? WLK I don't remember Sigismund saying 'tru dat bro'....? No acknowledgement  Originally Posted by Horus Rising, chapter six'How innocent you are,' Sigismund mocked, 'and I thought the Luna Wolves were supposed to be the most aggressive of us all. 'As does the reputation of the Imperial Fists,' Sigismund replied. 'Are we going to scrap about it now? Argue which Legion is toughest?' 'The answer, always, is the Wolves of Fenris,' Torgaddon put in, 'because they are clinically insane.' He grinned broadly, sensing the tension, and wishing to dispel it. 'If you're comparing sane Legions, of course, the question becomes more complex. Primarch Roboute's Ultramarines make a good show, but then there are so bloody many of them. The Word Bearers, the White Scars, the Imperial Fists, oh, all have fine records. But the Luna Wolves, ah me, the Luna Wolves, Sigismund, in a straight fight? Do you really think you'd have a hope? Honestly? Your yellow ragamuffins against the best of the best?' Sigismund laughed. 'Whatever helps you sleep, Tarik. Terra bless us all it is a paradigm that will never be tested.' Torgaddon was throwing out something that no one would argue with ~ lupus loco. To ease the tension he added a third party so neither party would lose face by not being 'the toughest' compared to the other. They'd all happily call the Space Wolves crazy, and so neither of the LW or IF would lose face to the other being 'the toughest'. Even when Tarik says Luna Wolves would beat Imperial Fists, Sigismund laughs it off. Tolerance is for the Tau, brother. Mankind needs not conform to such touchy feely sentiment in the 41st millennium, as modelled by the Emperor Himself. you have a mantle that makes you tough. we have an attitude (Saga) Actually, your Saga's not an attitude. Marshal Wilhelm
Wait, how did the Word Bearers have a fine record? B) Read the book ~ entendre2 Record? They won well. When they fought ;) It is also plausible that Tarik was talking from a certain point in time, and that the Word Bearers became slower and slower as Lorgar's devotion to the Emperor manifested in more overt ways. slmellon
Not to get back on topic, but I would have to say that the ideals of the Wolves are what does it for me, they will fight for their (or your) right to party. They are known throughout the imperium for sticking up for, not sticking it to, the little guy. I like the fact that their fleets are piloted by free Fenrissians, who, though not SWs are treated with honor and respect. They are the true knights of the Imperium, despite their appearance as space barbarians. whiteridder
Why I play with Space wolves. because of the fluff. Beer drinking powerarmoured or terminatorarmoured viking style space marines!!!! It's the whole fluff why I play with them!! CainTheHunter
I guess we can summarise that it's the beer part of fluff which is really important. The rest just comes along in the package. Ravenator
I Play space wolves for a few reasons ;) 1. The viking mythology based fluff 2. the simple badassness 3. i also love draining the old ale horn (which i do own my own and proudly) 4. the whole wolf terminology while repetetive (like in wolf honour.... young space wolf , the young space wolf , the young space wolf) is cool. 5. some of my ancestors were swedish. 6 ...... does anyone really need a reason to choose a chapter which drinks like true brothers and fights like gods for the sake of humanity..????
