Need help with some tricky questions

I really need some help with some questions I have re SoB.

How do they Recruit?, where do they find new blood?, if they were stranded for any length of time on a different planet how would they maintain numbers?

SM's live for hundreds of years, some other "human phykers" live for 1000's...how long would a SoB live for if she were not killed in combat?

Thats it for now thanks for your time.

Sisters recruit from several places. Mainly the Schola Progenium as well as volunteers, generally from noble families. If stranded they would create a base, start educating the locals and recruit from there.

A Sister could live for a few hundred. The Imperium has rejuvenat treatment which can extend life many times it's orgininal length. I imagine Sisters of high rank are given it to allow them to serve longer. So a Cannoness could be pushing 500 and still be as fit as she was at 40.

Sisters, due to keeping a very healthy lifestyle (Being shot at not-withstanding) would probebly make it to 100 without rejuvenat

As far as I'm aware, Sisters are only mentioned as being trained in the Schola Progenium like Stormies as has been mentioned.

Rejuvenat treatment is supposed to be very expensive, so if any in the sisterhood got access to it it would probably only be high ranking members. The ordinary sister would live the normal life span, though likely cut short by martyrdom for the Emperor :)

While juvenat treatments are out, for the average line Sisters, I would imagine that barring death in battle they probably do have a nicely above-average normal lifespan thanks to having the Hospitallers readily available to give them any medical treatment they might need. Given the fact that Inquisitors often take Hospitallers to serve as their personal medics/physicians, the Hospitallers are obviously supposed to be some of the best medical professionals the Imperium has. Access to top-level medical care, even if the really expensive stuff is out, puts the Adepta Sororitas leagues ahead of the average Imperial citizen, or even most other branches of the Imperial military.

As for the issue of training, I would not be surprised if new battlesisters get at least a bit of training after they are assigned to their convents; after all, different orders might have slightly different combat doctrines, and would probably emphasize a training regimen suited for whatever threats they're most likely to face in their region of space; if nothing else, any new sisters would need a bit of training time to properly integrate into their new units.

Refering only to my personal oppinion I'd say their average lifespan would not differ from the guardsman life. Some high ranking members may get juvenat treatment, but the rest are just as mortal as anyone else.

The Sisters are so significant in the whole being human thing, showing that humanity + faith can prevail against the gravest dangers. They're human, not astartes. That is what I find so special about them.

Barring death in battle, I'd say a few hundred years wouldn't be an issue. I don't actually see any Sisters being trapped on a planet for any length of time to make recruiting an issue (either other Sisters will come hunting them or they will die in combat).

Going with the Dark Heresy background, they must be of Feral (low tech) or Imperial (high tech, but not hive or forge) world origin with Schola Progenium or Noble Born background. For the first 3 ranks of advancement all Sisters are the same which would make them about the equivalent of a blooded or well trained Guardsmen (Conscript, Guard, Armsman). For the next rank (IG=Sergeant), a Sister must choose (or have chosen for her) the path she will take in the Sororitas. Militant, Hospitaller or Dialogous.

Militant is the obvious tabletop SoB, Dialogous and Hospitaller would show up in an Inquisitors retinue only and be a modeling choice (Sage=Dialogous, the medic follower=Hospitaller)

Dialogous are similar to Adepts, with a bit more weapon skill and the ability to deal with forbidden and/or heretical texts without gaining corruption better than others (from their Faith skill). Trusted diplomats and agents for resolving disputes peacefully. Well, as long as you aren't a heretic...

Hospitallers are medics, torturers, etc.

Biggest difference between Sororitas and "normal" human career paths is that every last one of them by the time they are finished with their first three ranks can serve in the firing line of a Battle Sister squad. All of them gain command skills and at the highest levels, enough combat skills that the senior diplomat or doctor could conceivably take charge of her lower ranking Sisters and lead them credibly in combat. The progression ends at the rank of Legatine, which is just prior to Palatinate and Canoness and AFAIK, you cannot go any further in Dark Heresy. Makes a bit of sense because both of those ranks would mean not spending so much time playing the =I= game.

Also at that rank, the character should be able to kick the behind of a normal Battle Brother or three, which is about right comparing it back to the tabletop game. The Marine would still "win" in the straight combat skill comparison, but it is all the "side" skills and advanced gear that add in for extra dodging, parrying and attacks.
