Odin Ravenwing
Sons of Aquosus We are the Sons of Aquosus, Children of the Great Father. Through strict discipline and our unwavering devotion to the Great Father we have survived for countless generations. Today our loyalty is rewarded, rewarded by him. He has rewarded us this day with the relics and power we need to defeat our foes. Today is the day we show that we are true to the his name, and wipe the foul xenos from our home once and for all. - Artemis Drakeslayer, at the assembly of Companies prior to their Crusade to eliminate the local lizardmen population. Founding Unfortunatly, there are no records found on the chapter prior to their reconnect to the rest of the Imperium shortly after 26th founding. One record was found the is a possible match to the chapter although the rest of its records were deleted when the chapter was marked lost. The only record of the chapters founding is that of a Chapter Legend. As the Sons of the Great Father emerged from the fires of chaos a great fire emerged from one of their great star boats sending it into another of their star boats. With such destruction a great light filled the stars and those great star boats were gone. With most of their relics of power now gone and their ability to grant others with the blessings of the Great Father they settled on Aqusuos home of the Sea Drakes. The first days were hard as the his children fought against the monstrous Sea Drakes. As the sun set on the last day his Children claimed victory. Before long a strange cloud of chaos filled the stars. As generations came and went those children became know as the Sea Drakes and began freeing the sons and daughters of Aqusuos. Driving back the vile Scaled Ones generation after generation. Now with those Sons ethced into our memories all that remain are the Sons of Aqusous to pass on their legacy. Imperial scholars speculate that after emerging from warp travel several of the chapters fleet vessels suffered severe internal damage. The cause of this damage is yet undetermined due to countless possibilities. The most thought possibility is that of sabatoge. As for the "Strange Cloud of Chaos" scholars speculate it was likly a warp storm that hung over the planet for several "Generations" as the local legend states. As to how long that truely was is unknown at this time. Homeworld Planet: Aqusuos Environment: Scattered and few tropical Islands, Primarly water world. Population: Primative human seafaring culture, primative evolved lizard based humoids. Life on Aqusuos Pre-Sons Life was harsh for the human population prior to the Sons arrival. The local Xeno race enslaved a majority of humans and sent them to some sort of underground cavern system. Those not enslaved were forced to become nomadic fleets to try and stay ahead of their lizardmen enslavers. Aqusuosian legend speaks of a great joining of nomad fleets that stood up to the lizardmen in an attempt to free the enslaved. Its said that at dawn with the sun behind them their ships sailed to the Isles of the Scaled Ones and attacked. As the nomads fought through the ranks of the lizardmen the possibility of victory looked close. As the fleet came to what is referenced as the silver city of the sea a great roar filled the air like thunder in a storm. The seas rised up and so emerged the first Sea Drake from the waters of Aqusuos. Some legends say they were summoned by the Scaled Ones while others say they had just sat in wait for the proper time to counter. Odin Ravenwing
Please keep the following in mind. I will be leaving a cliff hanger point in this chapter because its the way I work. As I paint them for the table top and play story based games I will progress them further along and update them as I go. So alot of things my seem like well these guys will suck its because of that simple fact, I am returning to the table top after several years away from it. So its simply a building block for me the foundation to get me started. Ecritter
Try this instead. Slight rewording and reformating. "We are the Sons of Aqusuos, Children of the Emperor. Through strict discipline and our unwavering devotion to the Lord Emperor we have survived for countless generations. Today our loyalty is rewarded, rewarded by the Great Father himself. He has rewarded us with the relics and power we need to defeat our foes. Today is the day we show that we are true to the Great Father's Name, and wipe the foul xenos from our home once and for all." - Artemis Drakeslayer, at the assembly of Companies prior to their Crusade to eliminate the local lizardmen population. EDIT: Made one more small change ... you use Great Father a bit much so I removed one. Thanks Ecritter, I will probably use that formating when I clean it all up later. I do most of the posting while I'm at work. Also, is the Great Father the Emperor? Or their Primarch? Or a mighty hero from the past? You jumped from using Emperor in the first sentence, to Great Father, without saying who he is. If the First is true, then it should have no impact on your gaming, as by and large, the two don't always mesh well. If the Second is true, than I can't really help, and I dunno if this is the best forum for it. If the Third is true, than I can't really help, and I dunno if this is the best forum for it. Dont worry I will be cleaning this up later plus clearing up details as I go along. As for the last three questions I going to say all three more or less and its just how my brain process how to make something. It will work sort of like this I will piece together an IA through use of storytelling, obvisouly cleaning it up so it reads and looks like an IA, and leaving it open so after I base my narrative campaign and play it through and complete the IA. I hope that makes sense. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214376-sons-of-aquosus/#findComment-2551861 Share on other sites
NightrawenII
What Shinzaren said. Seriously Odin, you have already one thread about Sons. There is no need to start another. Ask Dark Apostle Thirst. Second, it helps a LOT if you post your entire IA. It's easier for reading, understanding and critique. Well this topic is supposed to be my IA for the Sons, Unfortunatly time restraint doesnt let me get it all out at once.
