God I love you Aleister...

"Since all theories of the universe are absurd it is better to talk in the language of one which is patently absurd, so as to mortify the metaphysical man."

THIS! Always this!

I half started a homebrew chapter called the "Angels Illuminatus"/"Angels of Thanatos" (Never did settle on a name) that was based on alot of that kind of Thelemic/Masonic/OTO/Bloodline Illuminati stuff but never quite managed to get a look and mother codex that suited them ). And then when the new BA came along the idea got somewhat shelved, grey knights might do the trick in the future tho I'll have to see how they turn out (I may just get blown away by the new stuff and do actual Grey knights instead, if so Darkangels could be a contender but that will be a fair while I fear). Certainly theres a goldmine of material for a certain end of the fluff floating around, probbably becuase 40k lore is heavily "borrowed" from Michael Moorcroft theres a fair bit of decent Metaphysical meat there, Orks that can make things work with their force of will, A hive mind that twists the warp into new shapes by the shere force and titanic size of its Will, Gods manifest from the sub/unconscious emotional forces of man, a non fatalistic unfolding universe of potentials and probbabilities (thinking the fluff black library and all of that) etc. etc. could be a beautifull setting for some esoteric philosophical conundrums. Anyway I digress...

I think GW is holding back our chapter for the end of the series since Blood Angels played such a pivotal role in the conclusion of the heresy. Best just to bide our time until the end. I did see that a novel on Raven Guard will be released soon.

0b :P

Indeed our main claim to fame was always going to be the battle for Terra(h), I imagine BL will milk that one for as long as it can.

It's an epic shame the Blood Angels would only get featured at the end, even if it is the great Battle for Terra itself, that would still be mostly a book about everyone there from their perspective, not so much about they themselves I feel; however, the scene where Sanguinius saw, and then finally confronted Horus is extremely exciting and awful to wait for. Though...

I'd really like to read more about the battle for Signus Prime, where the Legion got its first taste of the Rage/Thirst, as it has a great impact on the direction and future of the Blood Angels, like the first appearance of Bloodthirster Ka'banda and his breaking of the Primarch's legs, and slaying of hundreds of Astartes on his departure.

Apologies, I'm a fluff addict, and I rant over it. Just my thoughts on this topic, and wishful thinking!

I have no doubt we will get featured heavily in the defense of Terra and Sanguinius will be one of the major characters during the siege. But I would really think it a shame if the Signus story was missed out. It seems the other chapters are having their development in books that lead them to where they end up. And of course Signus reveals a lot about what the future holds for the Blood Angels. Awakening of the rage, Sanguinius and Ka'Banda (spelling?) and the culling of a demon infestation, betrayal of his closest brother. it has so much potential from the short version in collected visions.

Not trying to derail the thread too much, but I'd like to hear some input. Is the Collected Visions worth buying for Blood Angels fluff?

The Collected Visions has a massive amount of fluff on a lot of the Legions, and gives details and stories about a lot of great battles, and even the Siege of Terra. It has a decent amount of background on Sanguinius and the Blood Angels, mostly their battles at Signus Prime, and then at the Battle for Terra, where they talk about how awesomely the Angels held out and such. It also includes lots of great artwork, old school to some new pictures. I'd say it's well worth picking up for anyone that likes Astartes or the Heresy, my favorite book. ^__^

I'm guessing there will be 2 books on primarch, chapter/homeworld and command structure relationships as well as some stuff regarding the special relationship between Him and Sanguinius and notable campaigns of the time. And that's before the events culminating in The Siege.

I think it's that 'special relationship' between Him and our primarch as well as Blood Angels and the whole 40k fan-base that forces the BA novels to be the most carefully worked of the whole series. I'm pretty sure GW wants to be most careful with the penultimate novels quality.
