jbarket
Hey guys, So, when I considered converting my Crimson Fists to Blood Angels, I decided to test paint a terminator. I spend as much time building and painting as playing, if not more, so if I wasn't feeling the paint job, I didn't want to commit to stripping all of my troops. I played BA back in the 90s, and I played your typical, GW Blood Angel Red spray, ultra bright marines. When I started over, I really wanted to subdue the red and white. Here's what I ended up with: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4089/5065387241_744b4542be_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4126/5068505825_4e9610c9ab_z.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4151/5084232790_0bdd299ec6_z.jpg I was pretty satisfied, and in the process of doing this, I managed to break Pedro Kantor... so I considered this a sign from the Emperor that it was time to change chapters, haha. Since then, I've been building marines, magnetizing jump packs and doing test paint schemes. Here's my Blood Angels test. Excuse the specks all over him, I was sanding and didn't realize the sun would make them show up so bad. http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1421/5146440762_484b460614_z.jpg He's a little rough, but it's just a test. After seeing Fracture's Flesh Tearers, I decided I had to give that a go too, and here he is: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4020/5146440588_1b6a71b7af_z.jpg I'm really pretty happy with the way he turned out. At this point, I think that's the direction I'm going. I really like the dark red and the black. What do you guys think? Where can I improve these guys? I've got 28 to go, so any comments will help! *Riken*
They look pretty good, off to a good start. The only bit i would change and it may just be the pictures but the red on the terminators looks a little bit flat perhaps a highlight of Orange or an orange / blood red mix to still keep it darker. But thats just my 2 cents. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214508-test-paint-scheme-assault-marines/#findComment-2553862 Share on other sites

They're more shaded than highlighted, if that makes sense. The Flesh Tearer here was actually only my second time to attempt extreme highlighting, so I'm going to try and go back and do the same to them. skawolf
The flesh tearer looks good, I think you should go more in that direction for your army.
