Marshal Wilhelm
Having bought the WG Terms and the SW boxed sets for some kit bash love for my Templars, I've got some spare Marines. I've long thought of Wolves as Long Dwarves and with such rich imagery [and minis!] available from the Fantasy range, I have put together these chaps. http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1365.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1364.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1375.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1376.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1378.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1379.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1383.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1384.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1385.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214607-wolf-standards/ Share on other sites
hendrik
some of those banners could easely work as a rune weapon too imo. but what's this wilhelm, did you finaly decide to join the almighty sons of Russ? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214607-wolf-standards/#findComment-2555174 Share on other sites

wolf363839
Love it. Still has the viking feel along with the historical coolness of some hard-nosed dwarves. I think they would go well as Wolf Standards. Paint up a squad and let's see what one looks like all completed. Marshal Wilhelm
Well, I've had a whirl with some green stuff. I find it the most testing art in the hobby. Seriously. Here is some Wulfen as per Mjolnir's version. Copy it right in practice ^_^ http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1458.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1433.jpg http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1445.jpg Then an undead Dire Wolf as a Fen wolf. http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1448.jpg and the much easier Chaos hound. http://i918.photobucket.com/albums/ad29/Marshall_Wilhelm/DSCF1446.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214607-wolf-standards/#findComment-2573306 Share on other sites

Wolf Lord Mjolnir
Love the wulfen dude! What heads did you use in the end? Are they a newer beastman one? Well done! Marshal Wilhelm
Thank you all for your kind words. It is always an encouragement to me. Love the wulfen dude! What heads did you use in the end? Are they a newer beastman one? Well done! I bought 13 ungor heads on eBay, hoard o bits. I don't know if they are newer than your ones....? I cut the face off the bald space marine head, but kept the 'neck-ball'. I was finding it hard to glue the ungor head in place as it is not meant for power armour. So I cut the back off the ungor head, but keeping the ears, and glued the two pieces together. Warhead01
where do the open hands come from? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214607-wolf-standards/#findComment-2573544 Share on other sites
Marshal Wilhelm
where do the open hands come from? Ghoul arms from the Vampire Counts fantasy range. Cut them off at the wrist as the arm is too skinny to match the Beastmen Gor arms. Beef
I like the banners, They do work for that whole norse/Viking feel. As for the Wulfen they look great, BUT i am not feeling the second Fenrision wolfs face, the mouth and face just look a bit wrong in dimentions. Otherwise great work Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214607-wolf-standards/#findComment-2574987 Share on other sites

kapturowski
Great stuff. The Dwarf iconography looks good on the wolves. The use of bits ont he Wulfen is really great, but I would like to see them with a bit less hair, I think it looks a bit like afros or perm jobs at the moment. What I'm trying to say is that I think it would look better if the hair had a bit less volume.
