Morticon
Hey guys, so im on a termy trip at the mo with my BA. Ive only had old school terms - and theyre ugly as hell when compared to the SH terms ive done. http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/9482/img1722i.jpg http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/4662/img1719m.jpg Now, those models can still obviously be used in space hulk. However, im wanting to rock assault terms. Now, ive just bought a box of assault terms. So, question is - do i hack up the remaining space hulk models and make assault marines from them and the assault marine box or do i just use the models i got in the box? I dont really play SH at the moment (/at all) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214620-to-chop-or-not-to-chop/ Share on other sites

shatter
Chop 'em if they don't get used. (I think the sgt character makes a very nice first company priest) Don't chop 'em if you're already proud of them enough to display 'em. You'll be proud of 2 boxes of assault termies if you add some DC/sang bling and you paint 'em to the same standard at your SH minis. Or, grab (and bling) some AoBR termies from someone and use some or all of the 20 arms in the one termie box for them (5LC/5THSS). Corporal_Chaos
I do not have the skills to do major conversions, so I say do not chop. However if you are as talented in conversions as you are with painting...Go for it. BLACK BLΠFLY
I'd chop them up... You can make some very nice looking assault terminators using the SH models plus some them are armed for assault anywayssss ! :) 0b :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214620-to-chop-or-not-to-chop/#findComment-2555382 Share on other sites
Midnightmare
Chop 'em up you know you want to, its what I'm planning to do lol Have you got all the Space Hulkers? 'coz Sgt. Gabriel and Brother Claudio can be used as is (unless you go for all TH/SS of course, but Claudio is too nice to leave out imho) What you have already look great too :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214620-to-chop-or-not-to-chop/#findComment-2555434 Share on other sites
Erasmus of Baal
My personal vote is not to chop--I love those models way too much. Besides that, though, I have just three quick questions about those bases: Are they premade or are they just GW 40mm bases with wire mesh added? What material did you use for the extra chunks sitting around, is it just corrugated cardboard? You mentioned that they can still be used in Space Hulk; since the 40mm bases don't fit on that board, how are the terminators attached that they can be taken back off? Thanks. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214620-to-chop-or-not-to-chop/#findComment-2555450 Share on other sites

bulley
Chop em, can always ebay the x3 or x4 your need (going to assume your going to use at least the LC one, if not the TH aswell or vice versa). Wildfire
I'd say no, but I hate to break up other games like that and I don't much care about modeling. skawolf
My opinion is to not chop them up. I have seen the price that the space hulk termies go for on ebay and who knows if you will want them in the future or not? Just go with the standard assault termies and beef them up with bitz/green stuff. Vash113
I wouldn't chop them up, instead I'd suggest replacing the squad Sergeant with Gideon and using the leftover Terminator model to act as a Sergeant for the other squad of Space Hulk Terminators. Of course making the other Termies look as good is the real challenge but it gives you three effective squads of Terminators. Whitefireinferno
Hey Mort I say don't chop. I do feel It would be more awsome if you just got the Assault termie box and get a set of AOBR termies because all you need to do is Tart one up to be the Last of the Shooty Termies and the other Basic ones can get arms from the Ass termies and the AOBR squad leader could make a decent Preist. So it would end up 9 Space hulk termies with guns plus one AOBR blinged up to fit in so 10 all up The 2 Hulk Assault termies the Box of Ass termies and 3 AOBR and again 10 all up And the AOBR termie captain = Termie Sang Preist. Kinda what My plans are since I have 3 copies of the hulk 2 are still Sealed but one is open for use. Terrahawk
Don't do it man! ;) Just bling those normal Assault Terminators, I'm sure you can make something nice out of them. If you still got the urge to chop after that, then chop! :o Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214620-to-chop-or-not-to-chop/#findComment-2555862 Share on other sites
JamesI
I'm in the don't chop camp. I just can't bring myself to damage those Space Hulk Models, even though I never play Space Hulk (or use my terminators in regual 40k games) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214620-to-chop-or-not-to-chop/#findComment-2555946 Share on other sites
I am Legion
Do NOT chop them. They are a limited run. painted 5 of mine, and even though I can fit them into any lists, they are still EPIC as diplay pieces. Just don't do it! Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Whatever you do, don't chop! The models are awesome and probably won't ever be made again! Just put some nice happy decorations on the assault terminators. Morticon
Looks like you guys have swayed me towards the non-chop guys. I'll def. model up my two assault termies in the SH box for use with the other termies and take it from there. Thanks for the feedback! SamaNagol
Using the Forgeworld pads, and BA sprue heads, the standard Assault Termie models look suitably ornate. Throw in gideon as a 'Sergeant', and the Claws guy and you will have a beautiful unit without any chopping needed! Khorneeq
Don't chop them! They are so beautiful models. And now I can't bear the fact that I didn't bought them when they were available. Managed to get Claudio and Scipio and still looking for Gideon, but he seems out of reach. Don't make my mistakes  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214620-to-chop-or-not-to-chop/#findComment-2556104 Share on other sites
Cpt. Salvatore
I would not be against chopping but, experience taught me that with some bitz you can very easily bling up the common plastics. Did mine last weekend and with the FW pads, bitz and bit of GS work, they are EPIC:) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214620-to-chop-or-not-to-chop/#findComment-2556147 Share on other sites
Brother Nathan
im in the dont chop group. id also suggest trying to get some moulds off the space hulk guys you havent made so you can add extra detailing to the rest of the assault termies...
