Rune Priest painting

Mr. Danvers

Recommended Posts

Well, I've not done this before, so I thought I'd give it a try and see what people think.

I rediscovered the model I'd bought to be a rune priest (he was hiding in a tray in my case) and figured I'd actually get him painted. I aim to spend a reasonable amount of time getting my models to a tabletop standard. I'm not a high skilled painter, so try my best to get a nice looking model without spending a huge amount of time painting.

Here's the current status of the model:

Primed Grey (Humbrol Sea Grey spray I believe)

Armour:

Adeptus Battlegrey watered down slightly

Wash of Badab Black

Face:

2 thin coats of Dheneb Stone

2 coats of Ogryn Flesh

To whoever mentioned this method for painting skin last week, I greatly appreciate it. I apologise that I cannot remember your name to give you the credit for it.

More pictures to follow when I get some more work on him done.

can you post a picture of what color scheme you main army is, I always like to make sure they fit.

In either case I always liked the idea that Wolf Priests are black and rune priest would be white. its just a matter of secondary colors and accents.

Vrox.

Sure Vrox.

Here's one of my GHs

All of my army is made up of the Adeptus base colour, but I wanted to go for a warband made up of several companies. So, as a result of that, my GHs currently have 3 different badges and each squad has unique pack markings. In the case of this guys squad, it's a single red claw marking going down from the top of the pad, with a Celtic symbol for strength next to it on him (hence the PF).

EDIT: Oh and I forgot to mention - the yellow stripe on the leg runs along all squads, as it's their campaign marking. I wanted something to tie them all together.

I would go with the color of your eagle as your main color, put in some pure white maybe on his loin cloth and black to show the contrast on say his knee area and spiked leg ring, the yellow mark should really picks up. backpack same color as the GH, but the wolf heads pure white as well with red eyes.

something like that anyway
