Furioso weapons combo

Hi there,

 

Just a quick question, not sure if this has been asked. In the codex it says that furiosos can take a fragcannon in place of a blood fist. It also says you can take a pair of blood talons. Im assuming then that you cant have a frag cannon and one blood talon? its either:

 

Frag cannon + Blood fist

 

Or:

 

Blood talon + Blood talon

 

Is that right?

That's the way I read it, although the Frag Cannon + the Blood Fist/ Hvy Flamer combo is something I'm really tempted to try out.

 

Om man this is a great combo. Used it a few times, and worked great. Just imagine dropping this baby off with a POD and next to a squad or a transport. If you can pop/explode the transport it with something else (like asscan Baal that scout moved up, or TLLC from a Razor) then you have a squad bundled up nice and juicy for those three templates... ;) I've ripped more than a few squads to pieces with that tactic. Nothing line putting 3 template over 9 models each to make your opponent sweat. Especially if it is their command squad or hammer unit, that now need to make 20-27 armour saves, not to mention the few that will be rending...

 

I've stopped using the heavy flamer, but I still have the Furioso with a Frag cannon, Melta gun in fist and manga grapple, this way the dread have some range in case it's immobilised with the 3 template weapons.

I did some rather exhaustive math on the thing and it's fantastic (just with the melta shot combo). It's pretty hard for the (total unit) points to get the same anti-vehicle ability without losing the basic abilities of the dread itself.

 

Frag canon, grapple and melta arm is crazy. Probably one of if not the best pod unit in the game. Drop, fire at a vehicle... killing intervening infantry (& vehicles!) with the canon, destroy the vehicle? no? drag it through the shattered infantry? maybe.. tank shocking those remnants... or block the enemy units' movement etc etc... so many options invokable.
