Long fang lonewolves

Actually, my camera sucks...BUT! I've got a new iphone, which has a better camera in it!

I am already sold on your guys and your color scheme, you know this. So don't take this the wrong way, but you took better pictures with your old technologically inferior camera! The pictures appear to be overexposed with the highlights blown way out. And the lighting seems a bit harsh, whether by flash or a lamp, or I suppose it could be the over-saturation of color which is clouding my judgment on the lighting. The point is, your earlier pics were better. But that's just me, a photo snob. If I ever paint anything anywhere near as good as the stuff I see on this site, perhaps I will wow you all with some macro photography of some marines.

Okay! I'm no photo- expert...so I'll just use the old camera from now on!

However, small update:

Everybody knows that if you seek death, where's the place to go? Yes, you guessed it right: The eye of terror!

However...fighting against daemons and marine maniacs on their home arena isn't really healthy, especially if you're an old, angry guy already f***ed up by mark of the wulfen. This can turn you into...well...a werewolf...

So...one of my mark of the wulfen guys has turned into a werewolf, but don't worry! He's still in control of his body. He was just...."upgraded" from a lunatic to...a BIGGER lunatic.

You can also say that he reached the final stage of the wulfen, and are now fully turned into a werewolf.

Here he is:

He'll probably look a whole lot better painted! But it was a fun touch adding some more fluff to my fluffy hero-grandpa-army!

First game of 40k played in 4 years! It was against orks, and I lost barely.

It was great fun and my painted models looked very nice on the tabletop!

I also got a 2nd edition spacewolf with a powerfist and a bare head from my opponent (old friend of mine)! Old School is cool, so he got a spot in my grey huners squad, replacing my wulfen greenstuff werewolf.

The main problem I had was my characters dying from str 8 attacks! that sucked, and I also really felt my lack of high str shooting against veichles. Also some blastweapons were missed...So I made a new list! This one has 10 more models in it. 10 more FUN models - bikes, attackbikes, drop pod, more terminators and longfangs!

I don't want to do mechanized stuff, so a drop pod is all I shall have for my wolf guard squad. I don't like the trend of having lots of veichles.

All right! Old School is cool, like I said in a previous post!

Here he is! A REAL veteran! He fits like a glove in my grey hunters squad, and I really like this model a lot!

He's not based yet, so he's not fully complete.

Hope you like him!

I really enjoyed painting theese! The pics aren't that great though!

Hope you like them anyway!

I've been looking for something not baby blue like on my wolves as well, as one of the first things I read on the Chapter (source is long since forgotten, could have been anything from a 'dex to WD to a novel) likened the armor to fog or mist near the shores of a sea. And that foggy, misty image has always stayed in my head. Thanks for the solution!

Thank you for all the feedback wolfbrothers! You guys make me feel very proud and inspired to continue my painting adventures :) .

I got some good "Do and buy whatever you want"- money this christmas...so! I decided to order myself a Landraider Redeemer to really burn my heretic chaos opponents to ashes! (often play against chaos - and orks)

Main question now is - How shall I paint my tanks?

Metallic makes it hard to do any real battledamage in a good way, but it would really fit in my colour scheme.

Red would maybe be nice, and would enable me to do really cool weathering and battledamage.

Bonewhite would also enable me to do some nice weathering and battledamage, but what would look best? What would fit in my army best in your opinion -

Metallic blue with bonewhite and red details,

Red with bonewhite details

or

Bonewhite with red details?

It's a couple of days untill the redeemer arrives, so you have a couple of days to convince me of which scheme I shall choose for my redeemer!

I think that the metallic blue and red and bonewhite details is the way to go. It is an excellent match to your army. Then again, I am struggling with deciding how to paint and weather my own vehicles. Marines aren't tactically stupid (except maybe Ultrasmurfs) so I don't understand why they don't camouflage their tanks - I was thinking for my own something along the lines of what I've seen from the Valhallan Ice Warriors in color scheme. As for battle damage - I've always thought that less is more, especially since Space Wolf vehicles are so lovingly cared for by our Iron Priests!

Well, with battle damage I mean more like chipped paint and weathering...

As for colour scheme, I was thinking about someting like this:

Found it on google, and I think something like that could work for my army! I'm recieving the Land raider today! So tonight is assembly- night!

Thanks man! My thoughts? Well, I think that the whole marine thing is all about simply being too badass to care about camo. In my world space marine got an attitude like: Here I am! Shoot me! See if I care! I DARE you to shot me! See what happens!

Camo is for cowards who can't take a bullet in the chest and survive!

That's my thought on camo and space marines. Especially wolves, who's got a Viking mentatlity: Get there fast, berzerk, slaughter everyone, take whatever you need or accomplish your task, then leave and have a big party to celebrate your deeds! For that you don't need camo :P.

Oddly enough, a (albeit paraphrased quote) from a Star Wars novel works GREAT for the SM-Camo debate. "Sure, they can see and hear us coming... But doing something about it? That's entirely different". That fits very well to the SW mentality I think. And most Astartes in general.
