greendestiny
I have been painting for about a year now on a chapter that doesn't really have it's own theme and set up. I was using the Red Tailed Hawk as my totem symbol and had a few ideas about what I wanted to do with them. I have fallen in love with the look and fluff of plasma weapons. So I was thinking of having them based on the forge world Ryza where they still make most of the Plasma tech for the imperium. I then stumbled on a chapter that actually fit my hawk theme in the "Warhawks." They were supposedly whiped out but there isn't much in there other than that about them. So I thought that possibly a small group survided that was stationed on Ryza and has slowly been building in numbers ever since. I guess what I am looking for is if there is any more info on Ryza or the Warhawks. Forgeworlds are the sole domain of the Adeptus Mechanicus, and they don't share. Like, at all. Other than that you need check the Lexicanium, and the guides for more ideas and such. Octavulg
Why not just keep them wiped out? There's about ten thousand years of Imperial history to play with, so you can justify them being there for almost anything. Shinzaren Seriously, dude. Just call it the Octaguide. ^_^ StratoKhan came up with it, and it's so catchy it makes me giggle. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
If you really want to not wipe them out, have them on a patrol ship(rapid strike vessel) that didn't get there in time. Otherwise, I'd stick with them dying. As explained in the Guide to DIYing, Forge Worlds are a very big No-No. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214669-working-on-warhawks/#findComment-2556173 Share on other sites
Ecritter
Rapid Strike Vessels have at most (and sometimes none at all) a squad of marines onboard. Normally manned only by chapter serfs. Not sure if you can rebuild a chapter from that. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214669-working-on-warhawks/#findComment-2556977 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
If you had multiple strike vessel squadrons scattered all around space on patrols, you could get it, though it would be slow. greendestiny
Okay good info. I will check out the links. I did read that several of the forge worlds have debts from long ago agreements to pay the space marines in goods and services. So I may just say that they have such a connection with Ryza etch. From there I will work on the rest of my DIY. The other idea I had was that they were one of the unrecorded 13th founding chapters and then just make up fluff from there.
