Recentley I have been asked by my friend to look at several chapters for him to collect. I decided to paint some examples for him to look at and see what is good for him. before I reveal them I wanted to throw some WIP shots out there to get some C and C.

as always cheers.

While I like both the paint on the silver skull and the IF marines. My only crit is the mold lines, while I know that these are only examples the mold lines should be trimmed off. Other than that nice work on the schemes. Just mt two bolter rounds worth tho'.

Respects, Emperorsaxe

Executioners

I've never seen this chapter before. The scheme looks like some of the strange naval camouflage they tried in WWI.

These minis are well above my ability to critique, they are all so nice.

One thing you haven't said is what skill level your friend has with paints. As a beginner I have trouble with certain colors, yellow being one of them. I committed myself to painting an entire army of minis with Citadel Blazing Orange, which is another color that I have trouble with. That would make a difference with which scheme to choose, I think. My army is crawling along, where if I had chosen a scheme like the Silver Skulls I could probably do twice as many minis a session because the silver colors just fly off my brush. Just something to think about, I guess.

I admire the Executioners-Marine...

I've never seen a painted one before, maybe you should encourage him to paint them? As far as I know, he would be the only one to have an Executioners-army... and with the Badab-War coming up at FW, it makes sense, too

I really like how you have painted the models and like the first sceme the most just based on the quality of painting. But i have to disagree with the recomending of using the executioners sceme it kind of looks like hes been made out of candy. IMHO

Cheers for the kind comments as i said these are works in progress, I plan on doing a few to start with whatever army he choses, then with a monkey see monkey do technique and leave it to him to finish. I'm not feeling the love for the Executioner but he may chose it so I'll put a bit more effort in to finish it off. He has asked for examples of Mantis Warriors, Marines Errant, Storm Lords and Emperors Spears, I think they are light blue. so I will get them painted and posted at the earliest convienience, once he has chosen i will get some snaps and post them up to see what the Power Armour world thinks.

Cheers.

@ max - He is a painter of a fair standard and will probabley pick something he finds easy to paint.

My vote is definately on the Laminators! I don't think I've ever seen anyone paint them and they're a areally simple and interesting scheme!

Well done for getting all those different ones done too! It' on my to do list to have a man painted from all '20' Primarched chapters, however so far I only have 2 done :D

just trying out some schemes the mold lines can be removed by my friend when he choses what he want to do! I am mearly a servant in his decisions :) , i agree he will be told to get rid of them, but it his choice and when the army he choses is posted up i will relay your kind judgements :D

I'm voting for the Lamenters, because I hope to one day do a successor chapter using similar yellow scheme. And it's good to know your friend will be taking over for you, I've had two people ask me to "make" them an army, and I have yet to field a fully painted army myself!

cheers gents this is exactly why i did this. All comments appreciated, however there are still four more to come, Mantis Warriors, stormlords, Emperors Spears and the Marines Errant. Mantis Warrior is assembled and awaiting basecoat and Marines Errant is assembled.

As ever thanks again.

i thought they have changed now and have been removed from the fluff and replaced by a watered down copy!!!, I'll see if he is interested as he has dropped the Storm Lords and Emperors Spears and is having a look through the fluff to find another few he likes the look of.

Cheers.

I thought I would offer the B&C posse the chance to choose what I would present as a wild card option to my friend.

the floor is yours.
