Custodian Guard Squad

Hi everyone, long time no post...

Here are my latest edition to my ever growing Heresy era Dark Angels army. Made mostly from Sanguinairy Guard with heads from Scibor. As my first real attempt at gold armour I'm quite pleased although the pictures seem to have sapped some of the depth from them.

AWESOME! I really like everything from the feel to the conversion to the paintjob!

Tell me everything! What parts did you use (sang guard, PA GK, command squad bolter, masters of the chapter?), how you painted them, a link to where you got the heads, etc.!

Very well done, custodes is really a personal favorite in the 40k universe, well done and consider the idea stolen on spot!

Thanks everyone. I'm really pleased with them but they are really easy to do. I can't greenstuff at all so it's just kit bashing. If you follow the link in my post above there is a tutorial to make a guardian spear you just need a bit of brass rod (1mm), a pin vice and a sharp scalpel.

I've got parts for 7 more. Do you think I should make another squad? or maybe some jetbikers?

Very, very nice indeed. One suggestion though, if I may; the eyes are simply black spaces at present and I find my attention isn't drawn to the face, so much as the crest. Do the heads allow for the painting of eyes easily? If so, you should certainly paint them in. Red would seem obvious, but you might wish to consider purple as it would draw the eye in. You could then use it a spot colour on gems and the like. It might just add an additional dimension to them.

To be honest though, they are really good as they are, so you could get away with leaving them!
