Hey man,

Really love your Blood Angels. I want my Honour Guard to look different and I think I'm going to steal yours. Hope did you paint the robes? Also, where did you get those skull backpacks for your Death Company? That look bad ass too! Keep it up man. Your stuff is truly inspiring.

Hello once again brothers, painting season has arrived again.

Here's my take on Astorath, sorry for pic quality...I'll hopefully get better ones up soon.

thank you both.

My chapter is not strictly "blood angels" I call them Nephilim (taken from the book of genesis...mythological sons of angels that become "heroes of old")

Once they are all painted and I use them (lol haven't actually played yet!) I will write up a history for them as successors.

I saw othe astoraths with black or grey wings and chose not to go that route. The theme of this chapter is very angelic and black wings seemed to flirt to much with a demonic feel.

Newest arrival...my first baal predator. I will post a overhead shot in a bit. The pics also showed me I had forgotten the spotlights.

Gotta say the images dont do the model justice. Getting better at this pic taking stuff...but still far from where I want to be.

few more pics of the baal...nothin like extreme close ups to show you your errors in painting :P

comments welcome and appreciated.

http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j304/gabrionus/baal5-1.jpg...this is the same pic as above post...anyone know how to resize a pic that can be zoomed in? what I mean is this pic can actually get much bigger without losing quality...but for whatever reason photobucket wont resize it without it getting blurry. and I cant figure out how to resize it in windows.

Not a lot of errors to my eye, love the rich red and weathering. The edge highlighting works well with the overall red also. The only thing that looks a bit iffy to me is the exhaust soot, a bit too dense unless they're burning coal  .

lol coal eh? who knows with the wacky 40k tech!

Yeah I wasnt going to do soot stain at all..but loved the pics of it in the codex...but looking at them now the codex stains are lighter.

Thanks for the comment!

anyone able to answer my resizing pictures question?

You and I share an opinion on Astro being black, I like yours. Like Mort I mighthave gone with black or even a dark brown wings but I understand why you did it. Just for the sale of argument and "angelic" Azrael is typically given black wings, and if they hadn't alread used it for DA I virtually guarantee that would've been Astros name.
Loving the Baal, Such a shame they changed defensive weapons from STR5 to STR4, i used to have so much fun with my BAALS, :)

your forgetting that baals are fast vehicles now :) moving 6 inch and firing EVERYTHING is still very much legal

Well, I just enjoyed looking at everyone's miniatures here, I've been a Blood Angel player for years. Rogue Trader years saw Crimson Fists but since the early '90 it has been Blood Angels since. The last batch of Marines and vehicles were hit by Testors Flat Red spay paint. With .005mm black pen for details around the armor. Now my newest batch I'm doing the three up colors and beyond. Although I still think my vehicles will get hit by the Testor's spray can, to me they look clean like a real military vehicle, they are spray painted and they look clean. I detail them up, dirty up the tracks and the lower portions to appear as though they have driven through dirt, mud, and a general dusty look. I may post some pictures.

Working on a ten man Terminator Squad now as one of my many projects. Primered black and built built up darkest to lightest.

Thanks for posting the pics guys.

Hiya Kelly, did you mean to post this here?

Or was this meant for another thread?

Hello Again Brothers.

sorry for the poor image quality =/.

your comments keep us painters motivated!

The reinforcements look good. They would look even better if you put them on an A4 white sheet of paper! The biege background really sucks away the colours. The plasma guy looks like he's reading the gun instructions rather than aiming, a slight twist would have made him great.

lol he does!

I will definitely try and reposition his head. =)...and take better pics soon

couple new pics ...was able to better the lighting and background. No luck with changing the head position of the one mini...glue so strong i bruised my thumb trying to pop the head off....maybe someday I'll take a blade to it

Great models! How/where did you get the combi weapons?

I bet you would fit right in participating in the LPC? ;)

Thank you!

No LPC for me =) Painting is FUN, but it has ice fishing to compete with =)

to be honest its been so long since I converted them that im not exactly sure which pieces I used.

I know I used left over plasma pistols, inferno pistols and plasma guns.

In general I like how they turned out except for the one combi-plas on which the break is obvious.
