CainTheHunter
If they could make this available for download per pay, I'd even consider this as an option. Wolf Lord Fenrir
I think I'll wait for the book. Always more enjoyable. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214781-unabridged-audio-version-of-prospero-burns/#findComment-2557520 Share on other sites
Skalver
Just listened to the sample chapter of Prospero Burns. Maybe it is just me but I feel the pace is a bit too rushed as if Martin Ellis is just trying to get through it as quickly as possible. I wouldn't mind having some of the Black Library audio books to put playing when I am painting. But costing two and a half times as much as the print version kinda kills that idea. If it cost the same as the original book I would be quite tempted to pick it up again just for that but at the listed price it is just way too expensive. Serunox
This is a stupid question but the audio book,is the book voice acted out or is it just somebody reading the book?Id prefer just the normal book, reading a book is more relaxing for me. It's the same voice, though it tends to act out a bit. Thunder from Fenris and Raven's Flight were not bad actually. I'd of course preferred normal book, but they are available on audio only and they are quite sure as well. Sturm Moonwolf
I prefer to read my paperbacks and make my shooty sounds in my mind as I'm reading. And when I take my brain-boosters I get Dolby Digital 5.0..... Marshal Wilhelm
Bah, give me a good old book any day. I thought you oral tradition types would've been right at home with a bit of story time, a mug of ale and Mr. Kier bear under your arm. http://s7.thisnext.com/media/230x230/Care-Bears-Champ-Bear-Plush_1E7EABEA.jpg :D I picked the one with the empty cup :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214781-unabridged-audio-version-of-prospero-burns/#findComment-2558255 Share on other sites
Night Runner
Not many fans of audiobooks here! A pity in my opinion. I have to admit I enjoy them, especially when I'm building or painting something up. I have very little free time on my hands, especially in this period where I picked up my studies again and even less in summer with the tourist season and work, so listening to a good book I have already read is a blessing for me. I do this very often and I find it the best way to make time for both 'reading' and hobby modelling. Granted the book is expensive, and I don't blame people for preferring to actually read the book, but I'd rather be thankful I have the option rather than just brush it off. But that's just me, Mr 'fixed in his ways' Nightrunner! :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214781-unabridged-audio-version-of-prospero-burns/#findComment-2558300 Share on other sites

WG Vrox
I am a huge fan of audio books, nothing like it when your painting and modeling to help pass the time or long drives for that matter or for those fellow runners out there. In fact if there are any other fans out there or your thinking about it audio books check out audible.com. To bad black library has not pushed their products into this market. Now don't get me wrong graphic novels and the good ol paper back will never be replaced in my household, but there are so many good books out there you have to maximize your reading time and that means audio books. Its very nice that you can put audio books on the new smart phones as well. Taeken
Im with WG Vrox and Nightrunner. Audio definitly have their place. I love listening to audio books while modeling/painting. Not only are they fantastic as back ground sound, they also teach you the correct pronunciation of interesting names or words the author came up with. Case in point Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Lots n lots of interesting names in that book :P All that being said, I've never listened an audio book without reading the real book at least 1 - 2 times first. Marshal Wilhelm
i prefer books myself... and if i ever find you Wilhelm... and i found this pict of your templars, :)? WLK B) If I remember correctly, that photo was after we'd spent R&R time on Fenris. LoLo said we needed to chill out a bit and that our service to the Emperor was by loving his citizens. It was nice while it lasted, but we found we became as girly in mêlée as Chaos Marines.... Without Lo[ve]Lo[ve] to calm our fiery spirits, we soon reverted back to our old ways of accepting any challenge, no matter the odds and our righteous zeal was returned. ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214781-unabridged-audio-version-of-prospero-burns/#findComment-2558786 Share on other sites
