Okay I want to know your thoughts about this question, I will provide you with mine after I ask the question..

Question: Is it worth or should you take two squads of Thunderwolf Calvery with wolflords on thunderwolf mounts?

My answer:

I do not think it would be a good idea even at this point amount. The main reason is that thunderwolves granted they are a powerful in melee and have very high survivability they are not the back bone of your army. There are many other units you could purchase that would give you much needed fire-support or even options. If a thunderwolf squad + wolflord on a thunderwolf costs around 600-800ish points properly kitted out that is a good 2-3 units you could purchase or 2-3 special characters. I think one thunderwolf squad is more then enough as such a unit will make a lot of people panic and focus a lot of fire upon them. Even though the chances of them getting into melee combat will be lower then you would have two.. The rest of your army will be practically ignored and would be able to unload into the enemy or move about mostly unanswered.. That's my two cents...

I have seen in Ard'boyz four wolf armies with two TWC + WL with TWM played they all placed between 11 and 23rd out of 48 players. I think they over relied on two powerful units and failed to understand they needed support firepower to get them where they were needed...

I think you could do two smaller sized squads and be just fine. I personally feel that two large squads get in the way of each other. Those big bases really end up clustering up the battle field, and the bigger the squad or squads, the less chance of the entire squad being able to fight. So my thoughts are one big or two small/medium units. I think I'd prefer one TWC squad and one WG TDA squad instead though.
