Pre heresy Skyrars Dark Wolves

I have an Idea to run Skyrars Dark Wolves as a renagade SW chapter..not yet turned to chaos (though clearly they do at some future point cause they feature in the chaos codex). What would make a Wolf Lord turn from the SW community and go it alone. How much effort would the SW's invest to destroy his chapter. I see the chapter coming to the rescue of imperial forces but raiding imperial supplies as they need them...or perhaps establishing themselves on a forgeworld and making there own weapons, tanks ect?

Will this work or should I make Wolf Lord Skyrar a loyal normal SW incharge of his own company?

Should I bite the bullet and roll with Skyrar as a chaos worshipper and have him opposed to the SW and humanity in general. (and if so what now would make him heroic?)

Many Thanks

LS

personally i feel that skygar was only in the chaos codex to imply that the wolves arent necessary bound to the 12 fluff wolflords and that we occasionally go off on our own. mostly becuase we have some kind of quest to fufill or just got mad at grimnar for drinking the last ale.

'Normal' SWs are not in charge of their own companies- we dont even have companies, just GCs... and Wolf Lords are in charge. If there is no lord a Wolf Gaurd will step up until they can have a vote and get a new wolf lord.

So, assuming Skyrars is a lost company, wich may or may not be the case, he would have been a wolf lord.

If he traitered his own brothers that makes him chaos worshipping scum IMO. Any wolf that can kill his own battle brothers and join up with renegades is to be despised. (this is assuming skyrars dark wolves are those same traiters who sided with the chaos borders)

If they are the same then the SW should pursue and destroy them but not at thje expence of everything else like the DA do.
