where it doesn't stand out like neons in a dark street.

This from the man whose chapter has neon teal feet?

The only man who has complained about that is you :P Everybody else raised an eyebrow at most. Besides if you saw my models you might like it better ;)

It is actually more awkward on the models...

*shrug* My Chapter, I can pick what I like. It may be garish or too off-putting but I like it. Now can we drop this? We've gone way off topic ;)

Well, I cast my vote.

I must say, it is a really good selection, though I always found alternate color knee-pads a little annoying, especially when it's too balanced. Is that what's popular now?

It has its applications - if it's done right. It provides a nice pallet to place markings or badges especially if your using a scheme that has different colors. Also gives it some contrast to help break up a main or strong color.

I think they're referring to things like scheme #2 and #4, where one knee is one color and the other is another. Not just schemes where the knees aren't the same color as the legs.

Those are the schemes I'm referring to also. ;) To each their own though. I still say if it's executed correctly it can look good and make a good spot for squad, company or crusade badges.

I tend to dislike the varied knee pad colors. It seems a bit too randomized to me. I do, however, like having a non-base knee pad color. It tends to break up the scheme and make it less one big blob of color.

I don't mind if the knee is a different color (Company markings or personal heraldry and such), but having both knees the same color, different from main color, without any seemingly good reason (unless they're the Crimson Knees) bothers me a little.

Or if both knees are completely different colors from the legs, and also from each other. Luckily none of the ones here are like that.

I know what you mean, both of those bother me too.

I still voted for some of them though... Sometimes it can work, no doubt about it.

Okay, I tallied up the numbers and the results were really too close to call reliably. We had a total of 96 points dispersed around the various schemes, with three schemes ending up very close. They ranged from 11 to 14 points, with the one that got 11 points having the most people vote for it. So we're going to go into a second round of voting, with just those three schemes up for the voting.

In this round you get to vote for one scheme. Just PM your vote to me. The scheme that gets the most votes this time around will be our winner (if two of the schemes tie for the most votes, we'll take into account the one that got the most points in round 1 as the tie breaker.

Note that the members that entered these schemes may vote for their own schemes this time around.

Our finalist schemes are:

8: gallery_26_548_31763.jpg(green & black halved)

Voting ends Friday 3 December at 5:30 am Eastern Standard Time, at which point we'll announce the winner and Challenge 3.

I'm surprised to see my favourite and least favourite of the submitted schemes both in the final three.

What are the odds of that? ;)

EDIT: Damnable typos - I'm taking my keyboard to the techmarines this time. :P

None of the schemes that I liked made it into the second round. Oh well. There is still a nice one from this second round.

Ish. I don't like any of the ones that made it through :) Must be personal taste.

And mine didn't make it, oh well. I at least kept it simple ;)

Guh! And I thought I will learn Ace's colour-scheme today. ;)

I bet it's #7, but I'm not sure.

EDIT: Do I get a special prize if I enter every challenge and never win?

Other than stamp of "Entering every challenge and failing each time."? :)

EDIT: Damnable typos - I'm taking my keyboard to the techmarines this time.

Did you strike it thrice with a hammer, intoning the liturgy of accuracy after each blow?

I did. In fact, I was so thorough, I struck it a great many times while intoning several abridged litanies of function. ;)

But it's a heresy-era keyboard, and frankly we knew how to make them back then.

A direct hit from a lascannon wouldn't even press the spacebar. :)

You shouldn't be sure, 'cause it's not #7. :P

I'll narrow it down a little, mine didn't get into the finals. ^_^
