Little Lost Swordsman
Well, after watching what has been posted on these boards I have decided to contribute my own humble projects. As such here they are. http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3627/030jc.jpg http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/1876/029kn.jpg http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/7616/028bi.jpg http://img571.imageshack.us/img571/8937/027hn.jpg http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/3267/026vj.jpg These are all very work in progress, and as I am a student, working, and otherwise very busy, I will try to update as I can, but no promises on how fast I do things. Comments and criticism very welcome, and thank you for looking. Little Lost Swordsman
Here are a few images of what I was working on. Still haven't come up with a name for the chapter, but I want to make it a hybrid of the Space Wolves and the Black Templars. http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/1017/img2010111200009.jpg http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/3691/img2010111200010.jpg http://img241.imageshack.us/img241/2186/img2010111200011.jpg http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/4808/img2010111200013.jpg http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/2968/img2010111200014.jpg He's going to be a leader in my chapter. At this point I am going to call him Malek with Arms Soaked Red, Chaplain of the company. The axe is pieced together from two Templar power axes, the legs are from a Grey Knight terminator that a friend of mine cut in half. I need to work a little on getting the faulds to attach better to the belt. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/1750/img2010111200017.jpg http://img266.imageshack.us/img266/835/img2010111200018.jpg http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/7885/img2010111200019.jpg http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/4456/img2010111200020.jpg He is in the process of becoming a terminator. Terminator parts form the basis, and you can see the starting of the green stuff work that I'm doing. Haven't come up with a name for this guy yet, but I do know that he is going to get an assault cannon and a chain fist. He's actually he most fun piece to work on right now. I'll work on taking better pictures. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214942-yet-another-space-marine-blog/#findComment-2561139 Share on other sites

Little Lost Swordsman
Thank you, you are very kind. Little Lost Swordsman
Thank you, I'm working hard on getting better with green stuff. I have made a little progress, so without further ado. . . http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/6272/007ra.jpg Malek just needs a head (I recently purchased some of the black templar crusader helms off of ebay, think it will look good) and a backpack, and he will be ready for adornments and painting. Not sure what all to put on a one armed chaplain carrying a large axe. http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/2924/006kvu.jpg Hurn With a Shirt of Scars stalked forward through the ruins of the citadel, a grenade in one fist, his bolter nearly spent in the other. His squad was behind him when he heard the shuffling of feet ahead. Tossing his grenade forward he waited for the blast and charged, gun firing. . . http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/1873/005uh.jpg posing the right arm correctly was a huge pain, and yes, he has no buckle for his belt. I made a mistake, but the bolter will cover it nicely. http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/4153/004kj.jpg http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/2629/003jv.jpg I'm not thrilled with how this guy is coming out, but I figure it's not terrible for my first attempt at making a true scaled terminator. Terminatorinhell
I think he looks fine but his legs should be a little wider apart at the hips. Never part of the comradeship that his brothers shared, he was thought of as a psychopath who was held in check only by the strict discipline of the chapter. However, despite the misgivings of his brethren, they were always happy to have him on the battlefield, as his lightning reflexes and incredible skills ensured that he reaped a large toll on the foe. Little Lost Swordsman
That comes from a combination of Decado from the Drenai series by David Gemmell and the flavor text from the video game myth. And thank you for the compliment, i always appreciate when someone says they like what I've made. But there were two Decado's in the Drenai books :D I'm a self-confessed Gemmell fan. Little Lost Swordsman
I was initially thinking of making a guy based off of Decado Firefist, but I thought he would have to be a leader in the army. I haven't completely written that idea off, but I totally ripped the description of my Decado from King Beyond the Gate where Tenaka Khan is trying to figure out who left the fire wood behind in the Dragon barracks, so this guy got based off of the Ice Killer. I always liked the description of him wandering the world looking for a good fight before he found the Thirty. And before I scamper off to take my secured transactions final here are a couple of his brethren who are nervous around the psychopath. http://img704.imageshack.us/img704/3728/033moi.jpg The next one is an individual shot of Egil Splinter Grip. http://img715.imageshack.us/img715/2/032tn.jpg And here is Hurn With a Shirt of Scars. http://img809.imageshack.us/img809/6509/031zd.jpg And another group shot of the two. http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/5163/030wkc.jpg The green stuff is actually a lot smoother than it looks, it just gets that light color when I sand it down for some reason. Little Lost Swordsman
Getting close to finishing the modeling of a squad, so without further ado, I give you Squad Barus, the Crusaders. From left to right they are Barus With Burning Steel, Laertes the Undying, Hurn With a Shirt of Scars, Karnak Slayer of Kings, and Gower Drinker of Poisons. http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/6893/033wp.jpg In the next image is the rest of the squad: Decado Whose Breath Smells of Killing, Dumah Brother of Sorrow, Egil Splinter Grip, Claros Flamefiend, and Suf Always Wounded. http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/6638/034iw.jpg The rest are frontal pictures. http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/7080/032ab.jpg http://img831.imageshack.us/img831/6552/031qs.jpg http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/1649/030op.jpg http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/5434/029ta.jpg http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/1806/028ik.jpg Still need to do a lot more work on these. I'm curious to know what you all out there think I'm doing right or wrong and also what you think should be included, so feel free to comment. Thanks for looking. Little Lost Swordsman
Well, some marines have cellulite, right? ;) I hate how skinny the gw models are, so I try to make mine rather heavy. Firenze
I do the same with mine. Very wide shoulders/chest on mine. Im just wondering, how many are you going to make? Little Lost Swordsman
I want to make enough that I can quit proxying stuff when I play, and I want adequate amounts for an apocalypse game. I think I may have bitten off more than I can chew. . . then again I have plenty of support vehicles to fall back on if necessary. For the moment though, I am in another state away from my stuff and get the joy of babysitting my 2 year old niece. So not ready for children/responsibility. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
You could call them the Black Wolves or the Space Templars. :) Anyways, good work. Anyone who takes the time to name and make up a bit of a story for each of their marines should be commended for their dedication. Little Lost Swordsman
Decided I would call them the Sons of Heimdall. I figured it would be a decent Nordic reference without clubbing someone over the head with something like Sons of Thor.
