Brother Caleb
Equipment: Runic Armor, Thunder Hammer, Storm Shield, Thunderwolf, Wolftooth Necklace, Wolf Tail Tailsman, Saga of the Bear – 275ptsSven fought with honor as a grey hunter until he lost his pack in a cunning assault by a deff dread. Greatly pained by the death of his brothers, Sven took the oath of the lone wolf and chose a thunder hammer and storm shield to fell his prey. He fulfilled his oath and went on to serve with distinction as a wolf guard. As time passed, he began adding embellishments to his hammer, sometimes to commemorate an especially impressive kill or act of war, sometimes simply because the mood struck him. This practice, plus his unrivaled skill with the weapon led his brother wolf guard to dub him the Wolfhammer. For no other has ever boasted a weapon so ornamented with the chapter’s totem or wielded it with such cunning and ferocity.Though he never was an ambitious wolf, his stalwart demeanor and fierce commitment led to his promotion to wolf lord. He stood beside his lord, carrying his trusted hammer, against the combined assault of two daemon princes. Together they killed one prince, but the other brought his lord low. He held the remaining prince at bay in single combat until reinforcements arrived. Because of this feet of loyalty and constitution, he was elected wolf lord. Initially, his new peers mistook his lack of ambition as a sign of an under developed political mentality. As rivals for the position of great wolf attempted to force his support, they were met with a cold cunning, more primal than calculating. Now, most other lords are content to leave Sven be, politically speaking. This suits him fine. He still abstains from most of the political discourse usually associated with his position, though his cunning, ever watching presence has an influence all its own. After taking command of his great company, he continued to possess an isolating manner. When at the Fang, he spent most of his time hunting alone. Eventually, he decided to wonder into known thunderwolf territory and see what he could stir up. He was not disappointed. A mighty black thunderwolf challenged him in the night. They fought till dawn, at which point Sven landed a direct hit to the wolf's head. It stumbled back, clearly wounded, but did not fall. Sven had never met a foe, excluding the daemon prince that killed his lord, that survived such a blow. He saw no need to slay such a mighty wolf. Instead, he broke the beast. Since then, he has ridden the wolf into bloody combat. This has done wonders to lighten Sven's isolating demeanor, allowing him to be jovial and welcoming at times.Wolfhammer's men speak of a special bond the two brutes share. This is shown by the fact that the wolf always accompanies his master, even to feasts and celebrations. This has created some distance between Sven and most of his men, because in most cases only other thunderwolf riders dare approach such a powerful beast. This situation appears to elevate the thunderwolf riders even further above their other brethren, and seems to spur wolf guard from this company to tame their own mounts. This is a double edge sword for Wolfhammer. He has the largest cavalry in the chapter, but his company’s hunting mortality rate is one of the highest.Though Sven never named his steed, his men affectionately call the giant "Rhino" because he is known to slam into the side of the company's APCs of the same name as he carries his master across the battlefield. Further, he often hurls himself at the enemy, including its transport, apparently attempting to give greater force to his master's mighty hammer. Truly, Wolfhammer and Rhino make for a terrifying foe. The hot, rage filled howls of the one matched only by the determined, bone chilling battlecries of the other.
