thanks for comments, guys !

Small update of the WE :

- WIP of the assault squad (still have 1 marine with powerweapon to add) :

- and the very beginning of the scouts :

http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/8784/scoutswip.jpg

Hope you'll enjoy !

For the scout :

- arm with spear from a whfb chaos marauder horseman

- engine from a chainsword (cut the blade and the grip, and glue it on the pole)

- blade is a scout combat blade.

For the marine, it's the same, but I use some flagellant pole (minus the hand), drill the marine's hand and glue the pole in the hole. Next, you add the same powerblade (chainsword engine and scout blade), and in this case, a purity seal.

the shield comes from the whfb empire spearmen of the old starter box (don't know what edition, but it was the one with empire and orcs).

I remove the lion face, smooth the shield and the paint the ivory color. The boar is a decal from a japanese clan decal sheet (as for the chapter bdge), and the designs on the shield and jetpacks are freehands.

Your marines look amazing. Thanks for sharing the details on the shields and the designs. What is the Japanese clan decal sheet? I wanted to use a boar for the personal heraldry for my Chapter Master but there is no way I could freehand it.

Hi guys !!

It's been a long time since I update this thread, but be assured I have done some work on my marines...

So here we go :

- first are the scouts (minus the meltagun bearer, not done yet...) :

- then, the assault squad, this time completely done (with the myrmidon / count-as wolf guard) :

- brother Achille (count-as rune priest) :

- and to finish this update, here is the drop pod and a group shot of my army as it stands for now (weathering and markings on the DP are on the way...) :

Next to come : a venerable dreadnought, and 2 "grey hunters" squads with their associated wolf guards

Looking great Tancrede :P One small bit of criticism on my part would be that you're going a bit heavy on the red earth powders on the feet/legs of your models.

May I just ask, on which forum did you enter the first model you painted (the Assault Marine)?

May I just ask, on which forum did you enter the first model you painted (the Assault Marine)?

On a french forum : the Warhammer Forum.

I'm on this forum under the name of "Le Caillou"...

For the red earth powder, I know I was a bit heavy, and I'll try to be softer on the next models.

i was a big fan of the colour scheme from the start and now it looks even more well rounded with 2 squads fully built up.

i especially like brother Achille, great looking mini well painted and modeled, my only critisism is the red powder is a little heavy but you have said you will address that so all is ace!

Very, very well done, brother!

The lighting effect on the jump pack looks amazing. Think I might have to steal that - though I don't think it's going to work as well on Ultramarines.

As for the name, I'd have suggested to call him "Ajax".

Reminded me of that giant hammer-weilding tough guy in "Troy".

Please keep up the good work, I'd LOVE to see more.

Thanks for comments, guys.

@Rogan :

I don't know how it could work on ultramarines, but you can try with other colors (maybe a more classical orange/yellow effect).

I will keep this name for one of the Myrmidons (count-as wolf guard), or maybe for the first dreadnought...

Little update of the drop pod of the WE, with some weathering done (more to come, with some rust,...)
