Marius Perdo
The cohesive theme and the striking and unique colour scheme, as well as the execution, on these is excellent. Luna Drake
Just looked through this thread and im blown away :jaw: how awesome your models are with cohesive posing and simple but striking colour scheme. Im dreading what you could do with a larger canvas such as a Land Raider. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214949-spears-of-ilios-sm-chapter-and-inquisition/page/4/#findComment-2851357 Share on other sites

Winterseven
These do look great! What colour green are you using??? I have been trying to get close to this colour for ages but i can't seem to get the recipe right. d Karma b
That... is a scary big gun on that there vindicator. Also, the axe? YES. Pure win, right there. I love those kinds of power weapons and you pulled it off perfectly. As for the color of their armor; do you use green washes to tie the color together, or any washes at all? They look so clearly defined, that I kinda want to see some more shadows to contrast the strikingly clean scheme of your paintjob. Just some very thin black link layers and those highlights/tiny details that already make the eys dance across your models pop even more. I'll be looking for more work on that tank, and more particularly for when you get a squad of terminators finished. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214949-spears-of-ilios-sm-chapter-and-inquisition/page/4/#findComment-2924957 Share on other sites
Sir Tancrede
Thanks for comments, guys ! @Winterseven : What colour green are you using??? the green is Prince August german uniform, worked with GW chaos black and Prince August ivory. @d Karma b: As for the color of their armor; do you use green washes to tie the color together, or any washes at all? They look so clearly defined, that I kinda want to see some more shadows to contrast the strikingly clean scheme of your paintjob. Just some very thin black link layers and those highlights/tiny details that already make the eys dance across your models pop even more. The pic has flatened a little the highlights... For my minis, I usually use this method on infantry : - PA german uniform as base color, - badab black wash - diluted chaos black to clean all the lines and details - then I highlight the mini by using PA german uniform, then a mix of PA german uniform + PA ivory (final highlight with more ivory in the mix). For the vehicles, I have a rhino nearly done on the desk, and the next step is to finish the vindic, and the last squad with the razorback. Then, and only then, will I work on the next units of the army : - count-as Logan Grimnar - myrmidons with combi-weapons, - a full terminator squad in a LR - some count-as thunderwolves - a flying unit of myrmidons with jetpacks, spears and shield, - and many more in the coming months... Sir Tancrede
Thanks, brother ! Next things to be done before the end of the year are : - finish the weathering on the rhino and the drop pod - finish the vindicator (painting and weathering) - paint 5 tactical marines and their razorback Then I will have a 1500pts army to play with, and I will finish my airborne IG before to come back to power armour. Next projects for my marines in 2012 are : - count-as Logan Grimnar - 1 or 2 full terminator unit(s) with LR(s) - a count-as wolf guard unit with jump-pack, spear and shield - a count-as thunderwolves unit with marines on bronze bulls Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214949-spears-of-ilios-sm-chapter-and-inquisition/page/4/#findComment-2928195 Share on other sites

Sir Tancrede
@Battle-brother Ludovic : Bronze bulls? Heh, I can't wait to see that Good luck with all of your projects! Your word is my command, brother ! ^^ A friend of mine gave me as a Christmas gift exactly what I needed to start this unit. And here's the result of a whole day cutting, sanding, filling gaps,... : the first bronze bull, now waiting for its rider and for the paint : http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/8386/dsc08533o.jpg As always, C&C welcome to improve the beast before I start the next 2... Dosjetka
Interesting... I'm not really sold on the bulls, but I'll see how they turn out with paint and a rider. Maybe they'll look better (I hope so!). Brother Oryx
very nice color scheme, incl. base color. Greek free-hand is superbly executed, very stylish. Find the flame-effect on the jump-pack exhausts brilliant. Very well done! Sir Tancrede
@Battle-brother Ludovic : I'm not really sold on the bulls, but I'll see how they turn out with paint and a rider. Maybe they'll look better (I hope so!). I'm reworking the head of my bronze bull (hons and mouth) to give it a more "bull-esque" look, and I'm trying to finish my vindicator, the last razorback and the dread (I'm working on conversions and FW parts for the right arm). Here is a little pic of my dread with his new arms (WIP). Still need a multimelta and heavy plasma for the right arm, and missile launcher and TL autocanon for the left arm... http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/4679/dsc08597d.jpg As always, C&C welcome... Sir Tancrede
Hi, brothers ! Back on the Spears of Ilios again, as even if I'm working on my Lamenters project , I don't forget my dear army of greek marines ! ^^ A friend of mine gave me a big box of bitz, and after buying the missing parts, here are my new toys : a terminator squad and their landraider transport. http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/4135/dsc08626k.jpg http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/5822/dsc08627o.jpg Still tons of work to do before painting, especially on the land raider, but this additions brings my army to 2000pts ! ^^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214949-spears-of-ilios-sm-chapter-and-inquisition/page/4/#findComment-2972253 Share on other sites
