Marius Perdo
Why do I just know these are going to end up looking brilliant when painted? :) Now if I don't get mine done it'll be double the shame ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214949-spears-of-ilios-sm-chapter-and-inquisition/page/5/#findComment-2972297 Share on other sites
Doktor Claw
I've a similar them to my chapter (the "Lions of Achaea"), but they incorporate a lot more SW parts mixed in with regular marine bitz, rather than the BA. They look nothing like as good as yours, however. The colouration is perfect, you've created a bunch of unique and interesting poses, the weathering is stunning, and (most importantly) the army looks cohesive. I'm super-impressed. I'm really interested to see how you get on with the Juggernauts, as I had the same idea for thunderwolves. Despite being called lions, I can't have my dudes riding on White Lions of Chrace chariot Lions, as they're way too small (though these will make good fenrisian wolves...). Ch@oZ
Nice to see a refreshing take on the marines- awesome and unique paintjob. S'jet
I think his army was based on the wolves list, myrmidons being wolf guard etc. This colour scheme is probably one of my favorites ever. It just really appeals to my tastes. Cant wait to see the termi's and raider! Archangelus
Fantastic colour scheme! Really well done! As for names, don't forget "Diomedes". He held the line of the Greeks when Achilles threw the tantrum and wouldn't fight. Sir Tancrede
Thanks for comments, guys ! @Dark Sensei : Hmmm just to know, where did you get the simple round shields you're using on your termies ? the shields comes from the old WHFB empire spearman sprues (from the V6 starter box). I had a bunch of them in my bitz box, and with a little work to clean the lion's face, they fit perfectly with my army. @Ch@oZ : What will the bull be used as btw- are you planning to use it in a wolves list? @S'jet : I think his army was based on the wolves list, myrmidons being wolf guard etc. As S'jet said, this armys is based upon the SW codex, as I wanted to have an "heroical greek feeling" in the army list too : each squad is composed of a hero and his followers. And so the bronze bulls will count as thunderwolves. For the updates, you'll have to wait a little as I'm currently working on a tau army for commission work (and on other minis for my own collection, such as kislevites for WHFB or some minis for Eden, a french post-apoc skirmish game). But I still find some time to threw some paint on my terminators and 2 new power-armoured marines. Sir Tancrede
Hi brothers ! Even if I'm working on a xenos commission work and some post-apo minis for Eden, I've found time to threw some paint my dear SoI ! And here are 2 new recruits, still WIP : a new myrmidon/wolf guard (on the left) and a "wolf-standard" for my hoplites/grey hunters : http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/6166/dsc08749j.jpg Hope you'll enjoy ! Natanael
Looks great, as always. I really like the greek-looking sword the myrmidon has got, but the angle of the blade seems a bit off when compared to the handle. They dont align properly. Might be the pic, tho. - Nat Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214949-spears-of-ilios-sm-chapter-and-inquisition/page/5/#findComment-3004506 Share on other sites
Captain Cirrius
Your army is very unique in many aspects. My favorite is that each marine with a bare head has a very unique head so everyone looks like an individual. This is a theme that I'm striving for and I was wondering how you came across all these heads and/or where they all came from? Did you buy them off bitz sites or was they just left-overs from past projects and what kits do they come from? Sir Tancrede
Before all, thanks for comments, guys. Yes, it's a little bit of threadomnacy, but it reminds me the lack of update on this forum, despite the new work done ! :) Then, for Captain Cirrius, I have a big box of various bitz, but for the last months, I used to buy only the bitz i need for my various projects (Lamenters, Spears of Ilios, Imperial Guard for 40k, and Empire for WHFB). I thinks it's better for my projects (and for storage ! ^^) as I must have a reflexion on the conversions I want. And then, for you, some updates of the work done since february ! ^^ - a WIP of my count-as thunderwolves (still WIP as I have to change a little the positions) before painting : http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/7077/dsc09076r.jpg - the landraider, first mini done using my new airbrush, still WIP, but nearly done : http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/1323/dsc09156z.jpg - And a group shot of my whole army as it stands now : http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/5448/dsc09157o.jpg And as my other works are not power-armoured, I will not post pics of them here ! :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/214949-spears-of-ilios-sm-chapter-and-inquisition/page/5/#findComment-3147719 Share on other sites
