Sisters of Battle Kill Team

As a side project I started putting together some of my Sisters tonight.

Working with the metal is a pain, and I've only got five of them mounted due to my impatience with it.

But beyond that, a couple of questions to throw out there:

1. What do y'all think of this as a color scheme:

EDIT: colors would be Mithril Silver for armor, Burnished Gold for armor trim and bolter trim, Boltgun Metal for backpack and bolter, and black for the soft bits. Also, Blood Red for the eye lenses and Skull White for the robes...

2. What would y'all recommend for a 250 point Kill Team?

I was thinking of starting off with a squad of foot slogging troopers supported by a flamer and a storm bolter and led by a Superior with a chainsword and plasma pistol. Idea: advance under cover, hose enemy with rapid firing bolters, make lateral movements to stay out of CC, squirt 'em with promethium if they come too close.

At first I thought you were recommending that the sister superior be carrying ALL of those things. Then I thought about it for a second... ;)

The things like the Books and all that are most alien to me, since I've only ever played with the CSM codex. I was playing around with the idea of getting an orbital lance strike and holing up some sisters to lure the enemy into its kill zone. Too risky?

thats a good one! (mental image of the sister superior carrying all that kit!) :D

I think its a bit risky to do that...maybe just take a huge squad of battle sisters with heavy flamer, meltagun and veteran sister gets book of st lucius (making them less likely to run away).

I will dig out my SOB dex and have a think...hope this helped!

Hehe, yes way too risky and probably more than a little boring to play. Melta and flamer would work well as they always do, and a VSS to lead them is a good idea. I have to add that I'm not all that familiar with the rules though, but as single model units do they even have to make Ld tests?

I like your colour scheme, but I'm not sure about so much metallic. Grey Sisters with golden trims would look pretty nifty I think.

In the Kill Team rules the book would have an "area of effect" of six inches from the Team Leader. That definitely adds a new dimension to the consideration of things like icons and banners and whatnot, since if you're spread out you're paying points and not getting the advantage for it since many of your troops may very well be too far away to be "inspired" by such things.

But on the other hand, you have up to 25 points to buy different skills and upgrades for individual models, so I guess that balances out.

About the orbital lance strike: disallowed in the errata.

Played my first Kill Team games last Saturday, and the "overwatch" rule is absolutely killer. I need me a couple of Sisters with Big Guns to cover the battle field, is what. (A Space Wolf Terminator with an Assault Cannon ruined my day...)
