Tyleesa
Before this turns into a debate, I personally only have a problem with people that only roll certain dice for certain occassions. I know a competitive player that only rolls certain dice for leadership for instance, and certain dice 'to hit' for example. If I noticed his dice rolls were over average I would call a judge over and let him put the dice in the fish tank Id take that test, but assuming I was winning at that point Id ask you to concede for wasting time if they all sank. What test are you talking about? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215048-storm-shield-and-runic-armor/page/2/#findComment-2564768 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Before this turns into a debate, I personally only have a problem with people that only roll certain dice for certain occassions. I know a competitive player that only rolls certain dice for leadership for instance, and certain dice 'to hit' for example. If I noticed his dice rolls were over average I would call a judge over and let him put the dice in the fish tank Id take that test, but assuming I was winning at that point Id ask you to concede for wasting time if they all sank. What test are you talking about? Floating my dice in water to see if there is a hollow spot to make them float- ie, any test that doesnt actually damage my dice to determine wether or not they are purposefully weighted.... like taking a ruler to each of the 12 edges, checking depth of the divits, etc. But then I believe in the unity of luck and statistics, not the supremacy of stats- IE, sure, if you rolled 10,000,000 dice the average will probably be close to an even 16.5% for each number.... but what you get for a given roll is entirely unaffected by these things as there are billions of dice being rolled around the world on a monthly basis... so why would the arcane laws of science care that my dice roll better than most? Thats one reason I so strongly dislike mathhammer when its used as the determining factor- nothing is a better determination of value than field trials. Some peoples models die inordinately quickly, or they have particular luck with particular things- over and over again. Hell, my own play group has said that if they hadnt seen the days I suffer some serious backlash, theyd have told me to borrow their dice or get the heck out a long time ago. *Shrugs*. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
What is this 'luck" you speak of? I only know of the scientific "cubic molecular transfer theory".
