Guroff
Guys, He's still a WIP in progress and I am not nearly anywhere close to the talent that many who post here but I thought I would share one of my latest BA creation. I am still working on blending colors for Highlights and such. Any feedback you may have about him would be great. And he needs a name still... Thanks http://img573.imageshack.us/img573/626/img0197m.th.jpg http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/9548/img0198wu.th.jpg http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/97/img0200l.th.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215078-ba-librarian-for-review/ Share on other sites
bulley
I like it so far. If anything I'd say its a little bright for my tastes, but thats a not a knock on the paint job at all. I really like that model except for the helmet which I think is pretty ugly, its a shame because the rest of it is amazing. Good job so far, with the book done it may "darken" it down a bit w/ the brown and complete it nicely. NExOBLIVISCARIS
I think its a great paint job but maybe add some details like some writing on the book? But I think your painting skills do that amazing FW model some justice. Chairman_woo
Absolutely fantastic mate, wonerfull moddel and thats a very nice paintjob, will look sick with some more highlighting <_< . The white on his helmet in particular looks really nice too, always found white takes alot of farting aroun to get right. Guroff
Thanks for the praise. I am planning some more detail work on the figure as it still is a work in progress and so far I am happy how the blending has come out given it is my first go at doing this. Does anyone have any good tips for doing writing on the book or parchments.... I have seen some amazing detail work but not sure I can do that even with a fine brush... was thinking of trying with a toothpick but looking for any tips anyone may have. Taz
I use a micro art paint pen on all of my banners/parchment/purity seals/scripture. You can get them at pretty much any art supply store. Be sure to get the size .005 tip, not the .05 because that's a little too big. It will say right on the pen what size it is. Here's my most recent pic. All the banners are done with a pen. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k175/megamarines/IMG_0438.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k175/megamarines/IMG_0436.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215078-ba-librarian-for-review/#findComment-2562851 Share on other sites
Poukis
Hehe, we have the same librarian :P I posted a (not so good) pic on my thread http://img602.imageshack.us/img602/7526/librarians.th.jpg Very nice job as a whole! A few highlights here and there will make him shine (almost literally :cuss) I generally don't bother veeeery much with letters, but when I do right something i use fine detail brush and either black ink or watered-down chaos black and patience :cuss Cheers! Gv0zD
@ Guroff Awesome Libby! Great work, man! :tu: But why his helmet is white? He's not Ultramarine vet after all :P And where di you get this model? As Poukis has the same model I assume its not a conversion, but then I dind't see this model on GW site (not to mention my local store :( ) Anyway, again, I like it much! Thumbs up! Guroff
Gv0zD Thanks for the kudo's.... the paint scheme is just me doing it to what I feel the model should look like. In all my work, I dont follow the BA paint schemes to the letter. I utilize them as guidelines even in my basic tactical squads and such. You will also see all my units have Enchanted Blue Lenses instead of the traditional green as well... I just like the look better. As for the model, it is a new resin model released by Forge World. If you are unfamiliar with their work, you definately have to visit their website as they make awesome models as a partner with the GW line. Gv0zD
@ Guroff So this s Forge World's model! I should have guessed. I haven't visited their website for quiet a time... It's good you posted your libby know, as I am in search for good libby model myself, and I should say I don't like GW's models presented on their site. Regarding your color scheme, though it's not BA-classic, it looks good. I repeat myself, but your libby is awesome :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215078-ba-librarian-for-review/#findComment-2564286 Share on other sites
