Well over the summer I raided my bitzbox for a ton of parts and I made 20 regular tactical marines out of spare parts ( I had to completely rebuild legs, some are two different legs fused to one cod piece! I have a fresh Commander Culln and yet another remake of my Chapter Master... I think I need therapy about that. Here we go(Yes..the primer missed a lot of parts.) Solid Zaku Posted November 18, 2010 Share Posted November 18, 2010 Don't think it needs to be said that you have a lot of touch-up work to be done. Plus, the Chapter Master must have Eldar-feet in order to stand on six cubic nanometers of ground and yet keep that pose. You may want to consider using the Foundation paints to help with your initial reds, since it looks like the undercoat is bleeding clear through on the bolters. Terminatorinhell Posted November 20, 2010 Author Share Posted November 20, 2010 Some more work to be done, went over the red tabard on the CM, have a few mistakes to get rid of on the FW marines, though they are hardly noticeable. By the way... for fun I tried counting the rivets on these bad boys...I lost count somewhere around 40..... I was going blind painting all those damn things lol! I also played a bit with bolter styles for the squad, I do like the giant chainblade on the end look :P. My Chapter Master's arms, head and backpack are magnetized, so if anything looks crooked, the magnets probably pivoted a bit when I was posing him for a picture. I based it off of this Scibor Sculpt, it was decent looking enough and the price wasn't terrible plus he had a cool base! Natanael Posted December 15, 2010 Share Posted December 15, 2010 Hey. For tips, I think the main thing you need to work on is thinning you paint and getting good coverage. Thats what ppl keep telling me, and my minis look somewhat like yours =D And try to use washes. For pure gold guys I'd try out white spray absecoat and then a few coats of gryphonne sephia, with some metal/gold-washes in between. On the whole model. =D And the sword does not look that much like dorn, mot like the Kahn or something.
