Ultramarine 4th comany vs blood angle

Hi guys

 

Monday night saw a 1000pt game against my good friend colin and his blood angle army. Im used to allying with them as fellow battle brothers, but on this occation we decided to battle.

 

There is a game at our local club in december, so this was more of an oppotunity for the two of up to experiment with our armies and determine what would suit best. However we both relish the taste of victory. . . .lol

 

I decided to attempt to confuse my opponent and through in plenty of dedicated transport to keep him guessing. :P I wanted to avoid them pesky blood angles in combat and at the same time avoid a possible baal preditor that I knew colin had. :huh:

 

Im not that great at battle reports so this is a half-arsed attempt so bare with me..

 

Game type: Basically kill the other player

 

I won the role to decide to go first , like a gent "Ladies first", colin went first. . . .lol. . . .sorry mate. :D I later stole the initiative and went first.

Basiclly I just moved my tanks forward, not too spread out!, my redeemer and vindicator pursued a dreadnough, which later turned out to be bait.

 

Blood angle pod landed and death company with chaplin arrived. They later shot at the rear armour of the vindicator but nothing happened.

vindicator turned and backed up to drop a shot straight ontop of the death company and wipe em out. redeemer moved and done some shooting but didnt really do much? Other tanks manovered but remained tight.

 

Think rest of the blood angles turned up and just moved, 2nd pod turned up ,tactical squad fired at rear of rhino....nothing. Chaplin survived and headed towards newly dropped pod.

My redeemer rolled up and dropped off my captin with command squad, vindicator started to chase fleeing dreadnough, who later destroyed my razorback. . . . .

Basically blood angles were out gunned, my captin and command squad were slowly killed off, so full credit to colin. However once they were out of combat they were surrounded and gunned down like dogs. :D

Finally it came down to the blood angle captin on his last wound. I moved my troops and tanks back and moved my vindicator forward to finish the job. which had just shocked the dready had been teasing me all game. . . lol ;)

A pair of smocking boots were left. . . .lol. I then destroyed the last pod and rid the board of blood angels completly!!

 

It was a fab game and Im fortunate to have the friends I have to game with, all of em. If anyone is in the southend area dont be your more then welcome to attend the club, so feel free to ask.

Was a good battle, and thats all that matters. - And FYI the Dreadnought didnt destroy your razorback, it was my Captain with a trusty melta bomb blowing it up and 4/5ths of the contents with some bad rolling on your behalf.
