You have 5 Thunderwolves

I really dislike giving up a close combat attack with that Boltgun that will never get used. I'd run them as one squad of two plus the WL and another squad of three, but if you're dead set on having one big unit you might try throwing a Plasma Pistol on that Boltgun guy of yours. You get some extra punch on the way in, and you keep the extra CC attack, all for 15 points. Not a terrible deal if you ask me.

Why bolter? Let the guy keep his basic CCW/Bolt pistol. This way they're still all different for wounds allocation an you get a bonus attack.

Call me a paranoic, but I always give my Lord the Saga of the Bear. Losing him to a Killa Kan attack is very very very very sad...

How would you kit them out? I was thinking..

5x WTC (SS, SS/MB, Boltgun, MB, TH) = 350

My Lord is..

Wolf Lord (TWM, RA, FB/SS, WTN, SotWB) = 260

What would you recommend Wolf Brothers?

1] plain

2] melta bombs

3] Thunder hammer

4] Storm shield, chain sword

5] Storm shield, chain sword, melta bombs

If you are running the Lord amongst the TWC, I'd go for the Wolf claw over the Frost blade. It kills men better and is poorer against AV. The Thunder hammer and 2 melta-bombers *should* be good enough to take out AV.

If you are keeping him separate, then the FB will keep him more versatile, which I recommend.

I run mine as this

Wolf lord, SS/TH

PF/SS

SS/Mark of wolfen

SS

regular

regular/meltabomb

They become a little more expence then what most pepole use, but the ekstra storm shields really do help making the unit much more deadly.

last spring I used a unit og 5 thunderwolves + lord in a 1750 turnemant with everyone having storm shields, and i won the turnemant as no one could deal with the thunderwolves running through their lines.
