MagneticFreak
Hello all, Assume that I chose to keep a Tactical Squad and its dedicated rhino in reserve. Is the rhino and the squad a single reserve unit (thus rolling once on the reserve table) or two different units (rolling 2 times, and one could arrive after the other). This sounds silly, but one may want to deploy both separately and roll 2 dice (for instance to use the rhino for some other squad and thus not waste the disambarcation and keep the ability for the infantry unit to charge) Thanks ! Acebaur
It can be either a single unit arriving together or two separate units that you roll for together, but you must declare which it is when you hold it in reserve, ie: the beginning of the game. Pg 94 describes this in the left hand side Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215348-reserves-and-dedicated-transports/#findComment-2565807 Share on other sites
Frosty the Pyro
Acebar is correct. When you put something into reserve you decide how it will enter play, including if it is embarked or has any Independent characters attached. Attached Independent characters and embarked units all count as one entity for the purpose of reserves. Any decision made when a unit goes into reserves (including if the unit will deepstrike or outflank) cannot be changed later.
