NightrawenII
Structure Pre-Homeworld Massacre Prior to the massacre on their homeworld *Insert spiffy chapter name here* were your standerd codex adherent chapter. Rumors say they were strictly regulated to keep them from deviating as their parent chapter has. However, like their parent chapter they have kept PSYKERs off the battle field. Post Massacre However, much changed after the massacre for the chapter. With their home world now the site of mass graves and most of their chapters relics stolen by a *insert chaos warband here* they deviated from the codex. What happened to these strict regulations? Keeping the company structure, aside from those that were destroyed, the chapter was rearanged in sorts. The exact reasoning for the new structure isn't widly known most speculate they just wanted to follow in the foot steps of their parent chapter others say they didn't want a repeat of history. Mystery for Mystra! Secrets for the Secret-place! ^_^ All that is known now is that one company stays on their homeworld to watch over the graves of those who fell and deal with the remaining orks that still run rampant through the ruins of their world. What about killing them in one big go? Ya'now, as a act of revenge. Witness reports and rumors have risen that those who are to mature and can not receive the gene-seed of the chapter and put into a imperial guard company that travels with the crusadeing fleet assisting them in their ventures. No, simply no. The Guilleman's reforms split the Astartes and IG into two separate organizations. PDF maybe, Serfs maybe, but creating your own Imperial Guard regiment is bordering on the heresy. Odin Ravenwing
- Well to start off It wasn't ment to be taken they would "Police" the BT. However, that is an interesting concept. This is probably due to my speeding through typing it up. What I ment was along the lines of the High Lords trying to reduce the BT numbers. Obviously this attempt would backfire when the chapter turns to the same general recruitng tactics. - To answer elohimalpha, yes they are a crusading chapter. It was not so prior to the masscre though. The other question about why were all the other companies gone. I was going to have them all called out to fight in different areas. - to Shinzaren, a cemetary world is how it sounds its just a world dedicated to having graves, either from other worlds like hive worlds or from events like in the founding section of the outline above. - as for the missing Omophagea, its still up in the air, but I don't really like it. It grants the marines the ability to basicly eat their foes and gain their knowledge. I don't find it befitting of a crusading chapter that avoids pyskers because of high risk to be corrupted so what prevents eating their enemy from corrupting them. - to answer the rest of your question Shinzaren, the time frame and the possible conspiracy attempt by the highlords is my justification on useing the BT. As for what they gain, they gain some of their beliefs which I am throwing into the next outline after I do a follow up reading on them as well as the later restructuring "guidline" they use for the chapter. - When it comes to the ork/chaos thing, I will admit to that may be far fetch but then again not. Orks after all are easily manipulated by all other races. All you got to do is tell them hey there is some shiney new toys there for you. In terms of the genocide, whom ever the orks couldn't kill the chaos probably corrupted and turned. Anyone who they couldn't corrupt they killed. So if chaos is right behind the ork advance they basicly did all the clean up. - To adress the daemon prince without looking at my own writing again, they didn't defeat him and unfortunatly the rest of the chapter didn't make it back in time. - No for the gene-seed perdicament, didn't think about that when I basicly destroy their homeworld. Thought they fell back on other worlds for recruiting I am guessing I will clean it up or throw in some fail safe system that protected their supply of gene-seed in some kind of vault.
