Viray
Greetings, brothers. I was just wondering if any of you have any good ideas on how to go about removing a shoulder plate from a plastic Terminator. I've considered cutting the pad, as I've had some success with that procedure in the past, but... well... this is a rather expensive model that I would rather keep intact. Seriously, the one time I want to take something off one of my models and the darned thing seems as hard as adamantium! (Of course, every other time... B) ) Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215709-removing-a-terminators-shoulder-plate/ Share on other sites
CainTheHunter
Is it painted or not? Also, what type of glue is used? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215709-removing-a-terminators-shoulder-plate/#findComment-2570793 Share on other sites
Viray
No, it's not painted. As for the type of glue I used, it's just the standard Citadel stuff. Terminatorinhell
If its not plastic glue, freeze the mini then try to pry it off, the bond should become brittle and separate more easily. CainTheHunter
Thank you, brother. Now I can fix the mistakes caused by my blundering. Of alternatively, if it still holds after squeezing, take some acetone, soak a cotton wool in it and try poking under the shoulder pad. Acetone should dissolve the remains of glue. But do in carefully and in small amounts, since acetone can melt plastic. I'd recommend using this and immediately afterwards wash the mini under running water. I was asking about paint on in, since acetone would ruin any paintjob in seconds. Based on your description, I probably wouldn't trust myself with anything like that; I'd probably get that stuff everywhere but where it needs to be. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215709-removing-a-terminators-shoulder-plate/#findComment-2572992 Share on other sites
