Painting Renegade Space Wolves

Hi all!

 

After seeing some pre-heresy Space Wolves painted in the modelling forum (though the name of the painter escapes me at present :blush: ) I have decided to gove in to temptation and introduce a renegade element to my Black Legion force. In this case it will be a unit of Chosen consisting of renegade Space Wolves.

 

I've been looking for an excuse to toy with a box of the Space Wolves since they were released and I'm keen to also make use of the lightning claws (probably 2 paired lightining claws and either pf/2x meltas or 3 meltas at present). Though I realise this is not a most competitive choice of unit I am doing this primarily for the modelling opportunity.

 

The problem I have is the colour scheme. I want to retain as much of their heraldry as possible but tie them into the rest of my force. Presently I am thinking of adding a Black Legion Shoulder Pad and painting the left arm black. However, I am not 100% sure.

 

I am also toying between making the unit either Undivided or Slaanesh orientated. If the latter, I am unsure of how to bring in the extra colours (in my case purples) whilst maintaining a good proportion of the Space Wolf heraldry. I will be adding odd Possessed parts into the unit amongst other bits and pieces to show the influence of Chaos too.

 

Basically, I've been painting undivided Black Legion for so long it has become second nature. This represents an interesting challeng for me.
