Wolf Lord Mjolnir
With no GW thunder wolves I find myself making a rune priest. Problem is he seems angrier than me! Still work in progress mind http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh132/Mjolnir81/IMAG0042.jpg skoal! Natanael
Hehe. He seems angry, and a little funny at the same time. I dont really know why, but he seems a bit compact to me, a bit like a dwarf. - Natanael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215723-arghhhhh/#findComment-2570901 Share on other sites
Vor
Yeah, he is very Dwarf like. Not sure why, maybe it's the arms above his head that make him look smaller. Hotspur
I think it's b/c it looks like his arms are attached directly to his hips. Where did the middle go? Until we find his midsection, I'll call him Wolf Priest Gimli!!! Niiai
The arms and chest are to smal proporsonaly. Also he has no neck. The space amrine armour is hugly oversiced. Marshal Wilhelm
Can we have a photo of him next to a modern plastic miniature? I think the others are right though, his proportions are not quite right. Maybe cut and extend his waste and his knees, pinning them and adding GS around the pins or using plastic-card? MaveriK
With no GW thunder wolves I find myself making a rune priest. Problem is he seems angrier than me! Still work in progress mind http://i255.photobucket.com/albums/hh132/Mjolnir81/IMAG0042.jpg skoal! Mjol IMHO I would change his pose, the arms don't do him justice! nor the cape and most of the people so far here seem to have forgotten that 2nd edition miniatures although similar to the naked eye are slightly different from the plastic and metal models of today. I love the old 2nd edition SW miniatures, I still have all of them in my army. That specific model is designed to have its arms lowered or carrying a bolter.. a reason why it looks off to many people. Since this mighty old Wolf Guard is wearing iron armor... I'd suggest maybe adding some bits from the new forge world iron armor MK III bits? I have full confidence in your skill, and look forward to something amazing. @Niiai his neck is hidden under his mighty beard, and keep in mind.. 2nd edition models didn't have the tech back then to make the more detailed models we have now. It's not bad for a metal iron armor MK III. In fact, during its time, SW 2nd edition models were the best of the best, and I'd like to think a huge part of the blueprints that make the new metal and plastic models we have today. Phodos
I think that even just re-attaching the arms so that they are higher up would help with the "dwarf" thing. I think it's probably the upside down shoulder pads that throw me the most besides the stumpyness. But aside from the short look to him i like it  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215723-arghhhhh/#findComment-2571649 Share on other sites
Beef
That is an excellent 2nd edition mini and would do any SW army proud, However the arms above his head pose does it no favours, like Phodos said 'upside down shoulder pads that throw me the most' Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215723-arghhhhh/#findComment-2571676 Share on other sites
Elahir
I love that mini! I still have it in my army. The pose reminds me of a Tusken raider tho ^^ I would lower the arms. Ironwulf
If you've drilled and pinned the (plastic) arms to the (metal) body, I would suggest removing them and positioning the join higher on the body. It MIGHT help it look a bit more natural. For example, grab a broomstick and make that pose yourself. You should notice that your shoulder muscles (deltoids) are almost even with your ears, and they not even with your pectorals muscles in your chest.
