Company paint scheme

Evening Brothers.

Im thinking about redoing my wolves' paint scheme.I like the black and gold look on my priest so i thought i might do it for my whole army. Now I know its my army etc and I can do with it what i want lol.But I thought Id get some opinions first before I go and change everything.

If I go for the black and gold, can anyone give me a quick start at fluff? Ill probably choose a wolf lord name and chapter name to fit the black scheme.Something like shadow wolves, shadow claws, night stalkers or something like that.

heres two pics for comparing the schemes.

The blue makes them look like ultramarines. Not a bad thing, necessarily but then they don't look much like the barbarians they're supposed to be. Black and gold actually looks good, but you'd need extreme highlights on the edges of the armour, and some depth (I'd suggest chestnut ink, but GW's stopped making that...) in the gold. I would use a brown wash (don't ask me what it's called) and then a mithril silver and gold mix applied sparingly to highlight, with the very highest highlights in pure mithril silver. Be careful, though if you do choose to follow my suggestion. The highlights need to be done very sparingly to avoid ruining the golden look of the gold.

If your wanting to keep random people you play against happy my vote would be to paint them a dark grey(which is close to black), then pop some random dark red panels on them and call them a lost/13th company, as their original armour got damaged so they used bits from dead traitor marines that they killed in the warp :)

Though listening to me may not be the best of ideas, as my Space Wolves army is bright green :P
