Darkseer
Hi guys, have any of your played Planetstrike and was it any good? I've had a full set of scenery while my buddy James has the Dark Angels fortress of redemption. We haven't played a single game of it! How do you normally roll with it? Also, how do the Space Wolves tend to cope? Obviously, I don't want to sell all my scenery and piss off James who forked out for the Fortress of Awesome. But I'm considering flogging it and building 1 Drop-Bastion which seems more in keeping with my Space Wolves and leave it at that. Commander Sasha
Meh, Planetstrike was a cynical ploy to get kids to rush out and buy more infantry models. "is best played with 2,000 points or more", expect those bombardments to wipe out lots of infantry in the first round, "Man, I need more figures!" Not a fan. Did that come across?! Bulweih
Well, I would never consider playing it in a LGS or GW store, but played with good friends between 2,5k and 4k it is mighty fun. The drop bastion is one of my favorites , while defending. My wolves performed solid in the role of the attackers(I would really have liked a special rule allowing us to attack out of DP's) but really excelled as defenders. Never forget that as defender you can still hold stuff in reserve and you don't have to put your footsloggers in the open. There's also that option where you can pull out of a bastion and attack straight away(don't know the English term atm, sorry), this creates funny faces from your opponent and his doomed unit, very funny to behold indeed  . All in all, like Apoc, mostly just worth it with good friends or alike minds. Wolf Guard Nostromo
It can be great fun, but (as has been suggested above), it is best played amongst friends with a sense of humour ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215836-planetstrike-any-good/#findComment-2572785 Share on other sites

Spacefrisian
Or use it as an addition to apocalypse. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215836-planetstrike-any-good/#findComment-2572833 Share on other sites
Skarvald the Troll-faced
It is tons of fun, but you have to remember that this supplement is not balanced AT. ALL. Armies like Tyranids, Blood Angels, anything that can manipulate the reserve rolls, etc.. are extremely unbalanced! However, I have succeeded against Tyranids defending and Blood Angels attacking (twice, actually!). I have two battle reports whilst playing my Space Wolves in a 2,000 pt. campaign. If you want to you can check them out here: Wolves for the Wolf God: Planetstrike Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215836-planetstrike-any-good/#findComment-2572920 Share on other sites
Bloodmange
I played a 2v2 Planet Strike. It was my Wolves and my Friends Salamanders vs. Chaos Space Marines and Tyranids. It was an absolute route!!! We went first and after our initial bombardment over half the Tyranid were dead or fleeing and a giant no man's land was surrounding the bastion we had in the middle. We seemed to get the concensus that if you were the attacking force then you had a higher chance to win then not.
