I like the Forge World stuff but I just can't bring myself to spend that much so I decided to start making my own. I plan on making one more, and then a Helltalon, then possibly a Harbinger Super Heavy Bomber (once I figure out the scale). Good luck with the other projects you're thinking of.... You might want to leave off the harbinger project though. I was considering making one myself until I found out that its 2-3times the size of a tau manta giving it (by my rough calculations) a wingspan of around 40" and a length or maybe 60" or more! Have to say the timing is really good cause I'm thinking about doing a Scratch build HellTalon myself. I did a game of Appoc last week and I was totally out-gunned in the first 2 turns (Damned guard player with 3 BaneBlades and their 72" range guns....) so I was thinking of using a Trio of Talons as a harrasment unit in order to isolate the infantry from the BaneBlade and allow my other forces to deal with the BaneBlade while the Talons and over reserve forces tie up the rest of their forces. As for the Model itself: Nice job. Couple points of question. For the plasticard work, was that all "For sale" signs? Or did you need to use something thicker? I can see that some of the strut work is a thicker segment then the rest. Was that Plasti-strut or just stacked sheets of the thinner plasticard from the signs? What weapons are you arming it with? I was under the impression that the HellTalon was armed with a pair of Reaper auto-cannons with a 72" range, but I don't see anything comparable on your model?
