jjfelber
http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s24/Severiann/40K%20Ultramarines/Vindicator.jpg Is this legal model? it is slightly smaller than a new vindicator. I would like to use it as i did pay for it years ago, but I need to know if it is legal or If I have to beef it up. Make it fatter and a bit taller. note: this is just a picture, not my model. stinkenheim
Perfectly legal, it's wysiwyg too so no one can object to you using it in a game. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215991-old-vindicator/#findComment-2574530 Share on other sites
dswanick
Yep, looks like a vindicator to me. But why are you blaspheming our thread with an Ultrasmurfs vehicles?!? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215991-old-vindicator/#findComment-2574574 Share on other sites
MaveriK
It's legal, I know of a few people who have older rhino's myself included that is use in their wolf army. i keeps an army unique, having a variety of models from rogue trader days, to 2nd edition and current models. LPetersson
Is this legal model? Of course it is... In an Ultramarines army... ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215991-old-vindicator/#findComment-2574773 Share on other sites
nurglez
I have 3 older rhinos and 1 new rhino, plus I have 2 of the newer vindicators, There is no way that I will spend money on 3 new rhinos to replace my old ones, much rather spend that on new toys ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215991-old-vindicator/#findComment-2574805 Share on other sites

MechSpacewulf
ABSO-FRIGGIN-LUTELY and if anyone says you can't then they are a BUGE POS and a liar. I have 3+ R/T era OOP Vindis and Whirlwinds and MKI Land Raiders as well as 10 OOP Rhino/Razorback/Predators floating around. The Landraiders are taller but shorter and I can actually get the entire model on the table facing forwards when I go 6" as I deploy from the table edge which allows me to bring to bear all of my weapons unlike the newer versions Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215991-old-vindicator/#findComment-2575306 Share on other sites
Ullr Direfang
I have one. I feel a little odd saying it has a seige shield though. In friendly games I am able to get a way with it. HamHamLunchbox
as mentioned above, perfectly legal. same with old sm/sw minis. just because gw made new sw minis it doesnt matter you are not allowed to use them anymore Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215991-old-vindicator/#findComment-2576720 Share on other sites
jjfelber
Is the size benefit not game breaking enough to matter? Why not bring all old models? Why "covert" your new ones smaller? Is there no standard? Just wysiwycgaw. What you see is what you can get away with? Is there no standard? Just wysiwycgaw. What you see is what you can get away with? Maybe it is GW's way of saying, "Thank you for being a committed customer. Now you may get away with what most cannot!" <_< No, but in all seriousness making them illegal would cause more problems than if they left them legal. They would lose a lot of consumer business out of spite alone. Keeping the customer happy is what it is all about! Daddywarcrimes
My Rhinos, Razorbacks, Predators, and Vindicators are all built on the older, smaller Rhino kit (since I bought them in the 90s, before the new ones existed), and not only have I not gotten any objections for using the older models, I tend to draw a lot of positive reactions to them. My favorite are the ones who are amazed that the old Vindicator weighs a ton, since it's pretty much a Rhino covered in 1/2 inch of pewter on 5 of its' 6 sides. wolfpack
My Wolves include a mix of old and new as well...gives my army a feel of 'havin been around the block' so to speak...never had any complaints from players or refs when an old Skaross pattern Pred rolls onto my table edge...or one of my RT's...GW and FW both have said... 'many older vehicles still survive in the armories of many chapters, where these venerable battle brothers are kept for times when their machines spirits experience is needed most' Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/215991-old-vindicator/#findComment-2579631 Share on other sites
