Hi, just thought I'd share this with you. I first started BA when I was 8 years old. The first GW minis I ever owned were from the space hulk set that was around at that time and the next minis I had were the marines that came in the 2nd Ed. Starter set. These were all painted as Blood angels and sometime later I got hold of Mephiston. Unfortunately, when I excavated some of my old BA from my Dad's loft a few months ago as I started them up again, I found that my painting as a kid wasn't as good as I might have thought it was then. I got hold of a new Mephiston mini (not wanting to repaint the original a) because it was part of my BA heritage and B ) because the mini was %&*ed up) and painted him up. Here's a pic of both of them here, painted with 15 years between them.

Um... not really... Use your washes well I guess.

Thanks all. Does anyone else have some before and after pics of models painted years ago and others now?

I don't have much in the way of pics of my oldies...I do have a comparison between my Old 'Moriar the Chosen' DC Dread and my current on-going conversion...

Nice job on Memphiston and I must also say that for an 8 years old the first Memphy is well painted. I also think that it is cool that you have kept him in that state; great to have a comparison and the memories. I have on the other hand mostly repainted my old metal 2nd edition figures but still have some old Rogue Trader marines lying around that still bring back my first experiences of 40K.

I had this same experience a few years back. I too started with BA, then took a break, moved on to Tau, blah blah. Anywho, probably 8 or so years after the fact I rediscovered my BA as I was moving. Red was apparently beyond me in my early days, and some models had nearly 1/8 inch thick coats of paint on them. I also had a Baal Pred which looked like a giant blood clot thanks to my novice attempt at inking. I almost regret having thrown them away now, seeing how funny a few pics would be

I'm a fan of any psyker so powerful his mind unknowingly bends his own Force sword! :)

No one could know that Brother-Librarian Uri Geller would face the Black Rage and go on from his humble beginnings bending spoons to become one of the most powerful psykers in the galaxy...
