You will get to see a cool kit bash that I did with him :D what is the red you are using please it looks brilliant Well I think the vibrant red is a combo of priming it white, layers of paint and a very bright light 3 inches from the model lol I start with a thin thin coat of dark flesh then a thin coat of red gore on the armor only making sure to stay out of the cracks. I then paint more toward the center leaving the edges darker I paint multiple layers of blood red and then use blazing orange only in the middle with a thin layer of blood red over that to get it to blend better. I believe I will use wet blending similar to what jawaballs does but I gotta practice that some beforehand. I also use Baal Red wherever I don't feel it's blended properly. My stuff is by no means the best but is leaps and bounds better than when I started.
