KingdomCold
About the Citadel Realm of Battle Gameboard. I was wondering if anybody can tell me if the entire board is textured? Or flat? I see some parts are textured, around the detailed areas. But what about the rest of it? Thank you Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216109-citadel-realm-of-battle-gameboard/ Share on other sites
winterdyne
It's got a sort of texture to it; you could certainly get away with just painting the board, but it looks a lot better with sand 'n' flock. KingdomCold
I just wondered if I could get away with mostly dry brushing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216109-citadel-realm-of-battle-gameboard/#findComment-2576369 Share on other sites
The Normish
I just wondered if I could get away with mostly dry brushing. No, the gray plastic (or is it resin?) would show too much. Best to flock and sand, like winterdyne said. Brother Nihm
You can actually but you will probably want to flock the sides of the hills to prevent miniatures from slipping off them. Obliterator
I tried drybrushing it, and while it looks good on the rocks, it looks terrible on the flat areas. It has a bit of texture, but it's not by far detailed enough to take drybrushing well. Red Fury
You can get away with just drybrushing it. Check out this guy: http://terranscapes.com/custom/customgalle...attleboards.php He has painted up at least 3 of these in the gallery section, two with flock and this one^ without. In his youtube vid about the board he mentions how all the texture takes a drybrushing really well... The Normish
I guess it depends on how thoroughly and how well you do it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216109-citadel-realm-of-battle-gameboard/#findComment-2578443 Share on other sites
