maverike_prime
I was scrolling through the GW site when I happened to see an image of the Tower of Sorcery. I'm not really sure what gave me the spark, but here's where my brain lead me: Take the Tower, stick it on a hunk of foam that's been carved up to look a hunk of rock. Texture it with some dirt and gravel and then stick it on a large flying base of some form to show that it's hovering it mid-air. Would that work as a Silver Tower of Tzeentch? What do you think? http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1460961a_99120299019_WitchfateTor1_873x627.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216158-silver-tower-of-tzeentch/ Share on other sites
Brother Cambrius
Looks good to me, just needs a little technology on it like piping and circuitry along with plenty of chaosy stuff and it'll be good. Solid Zaku
Y'know that was actually my first thought when I saw that thing on the What's New page. Depending on what you're using to hold this thing up, MDF might be a better idea than foam, since it seems like foam would make it more difficult to transport. That being said, the only difficult part about a conversion like that, it seems, is removing the Sigmarite iconography, and perhaps adding a fluted top, like in the Epic minis. Natanael
Actually, I'd flatten out the walls if you were to use it as a silver tower. Can't really see the tzeenchians using bricks to make a tower... - Natanael Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216158-silver-tower-of-tzeentch/#findComment-2577051 Share on other sites
Valkyrion
It's too bricky and blocky, IMO. Have you seen the epic towers? They are very very smooth, like High Elf structures that taper up like a spire. Kizzdougs
Yeah i think the tower looks a little rough for a Tzeench tower. Interestingly though there are two hidden doors in the tower with the mark of Tzeench on them (maybe its a sign?). Someone is being a very naughty wizard indeed :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216158-silver-tower-of-tzeentch/#findComment-2577072 Share on other sites
Dark Sensei
If I do not mistaken myself, the flying towers are the mutated remnants of the top spires of prospero's pyramids. Well, this doesn't stick to the idea at all IMHO. Have a look at the epic ones (maybe a model in the war at sea game, ages ago), this could help. Kurgan the Lurker
Based off the old EPIC minis this would work, just needs a pointed roof: http://www.solegends.com/citcat9x4/c93496-03.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/216158-silver-tower-of-tzeentch/#findComment-2577348 Share on other sites
maverike_prime
I had actually totally forgotten the Silver Towers from the Old Epic game. I did some digging and found an image: http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a316/maverike_prime/Warhammer/tzeentch_silver_tower.jpg I have to be honest, I think building that in 40K scale wouldn't be any more Tzeentchian then the Tower of Sorcery. Warsmith Aznable
My first thought on see that was "put it on a Baneblade and make it a Khornate Tower of Skulls". It almost seems too nice to do something like that to it... Baragash
This is how I did mine: http://www.ageofstrife.com/gallery2/gallery/d/15258-2/Silver_Tower_016.jpg http://40kforums.com/imageupload/images/img4c07b7d2de804.jpg There's more bits on it than that now, and the Beam of Power was done by building a frame on top of the tower to hang a dowsing crystal from.
